this opus was recorded in a room transformed into a studio, where countless hours of work happened on an old computer, with trips back and forth to the grocery to buy liters of soda. in between soundtrack, jazz-funk and house, the beginnings of this ep find their roots in the encounter between lucien and dj gregory (point g), spiritual guide, who pushed into an introspective work, where the feelings were ultimately revealed sincerely. this ep is also the meeting of 4 musicians whove known each other for a long time and, together, form lucien & the kimono orchestra.

back in 2015 our bearded dirtybird player, will clarke, needed a secret weapon for some of his festival gigs for the summer. he sampled the ghetto house legend, dj funk, who made an appearance on dirtybird back in 2013 for the kill frenzy smash, “make that booty clap”. will passed it on to the rest of the dirtybird crew, and before we knew it the track took a life of it’s own and quickly became one of the most requested tracks, even to this day. will ended up linking with dj funk himself, and they turned what was a quick bootleg into a full blown collaboration. ladies & gentlemen, “booty percolatin’” is officially here. for the flip side, we added will’s solo effort “house girl”, a bumpin’ ride with a contagious bassline and chanting vocals for all the ‘house boys’ and ‘house girls”

after the success of the leitzeiten ep from turbo turbo last year, we release now for the very first time this digital bonus track inner walls in combination with a fresh new remix from dan curtin. dan curtin better known with releases on strictly rhythm, peacefrog, sinewave, sublime, mobilee, paper, epm and his own label metamorphic and of course with his side project purveryors of fine funk (peacefrog records) delivered us a typical dc acid bomb. this mix is a pure bomb on the dance floor. together with the amazing original version is this record a sure player for every house and techno lover. we are proud to release this both great track son one 12inc. this record will be available on vinyl only, not as digital release.

it all began with a licensing inquiry for a sister funk cut which we wanted to include on our deep funk comp titled “feeling nice vol. 3”. after the deal was completed producer fred forsh mentioned that the backing band of nadine brown’s masterpiece “leave me alone” had released a 45 themselves under their name teakwood. after mr. forsh played us both sides we knew that this 45 would have to be re-issued. what was about to follow nobody of us ever expected. mr. forsh told us that teakwood recorded almost a dozen of songs which were supposed to be released on a full length album. for unspecified reasons the album was never released and it remained in the can for almost 40 years. finally, we are very proud to announce the release of teakwood’s debut album “a distant star” in early 2017. until then you have to be content with this 45 rpm single re-issue.

cadans is not a stranger to darko essers labels as hes seen a solo release on balans in 2013 and most recently put out a collaborative ep with the label boss himself on the tripeo imprint. throughout all four productions cadans deep, bass-heavy background is able to shine through with his extensive use of clever percussions.
