lobster theremin present their first label album, a double lp from chicago resident and elusive young talent, chicago jim. having cut his teeth on a life growing up in the windy city, jim s reverent ability to spin synthopian tales of old-school chicago and the birth of house music are a genuine reflection of a talent rarely seen at the helm of records in the post-00 s. label head jimmy asquith discovered the album online, originally released through chicago tape imprint pretty all right, and after streaming one track said tape was swiftly purchased and absorbed.

de:tuned was founded in 2009 by ruben boons and bert hermans. the pair first organised a series of old school techno parties in antwerp (belgium) before launching the record label in 2012. to celebrate 5 years de:tuned they now turn out a very special 5lp album featuring 21 tracks from some of the most respected names in the game. the album has its roots firmly in early/mid 90s techno and electronica, a style which de:tuned has always presented, and spans some 20 years of electronic music.

massive two tracker from jonny miller on his 2nd edits release on kat.what you did is quite simply a whopper! disco music as god intended it - arms aloft, eyes shut, inhibitions nowhere to be seen, smiles bigger than life itself. what we have here is not an edit as such but a reworking of chaka khans what you did, subtly housed up, re-arranged, chopped, fil-tered and re-mastered within an inch of its life - chaka herself pretty much always sounds in-credible but here the vocal just seems to stand even taller than usual. on the other side we have something in which some of our slightly older party folk may well recognise. dionnes house classic from 88 gets the full edit treatment and the timing on this just seems so right. originally released on the ace bigshot label out of canada (and was just huge in the hacienda), re-mastered, stretched out, re-arranged and making the most out of all those old school stabs, ploddy bass lines and timeless vocals.

teddy douglas, dj spen and maurice fulton don their those guys alias and invite jean-luc ponty to jump head first into their sampler down in baltimore to show some love, love, love and the result is this amazing 12 inch originally released on basement boys records in 1996. a truly deep beauty of a track that utilises pontys violin from 1983s *computer incantations for world peace* to the absolute maximum in over ten minutes of building bliss, *love love love* is an under the radar classic, a true gem and a real treat for all djs to play. the alternate mixes and bonus beats are also great, dj spens balto doo doo mix for example, keeping it thoroughly b-more with the old school breakbeats and snatches of the original sample jumping through the mix from time to time make this an essential weapon in any record bag! this 12 inch has been re-mastered and re-pressed in conjunction with the basement boys.

next up on i m in love is the launch of their new serie iil limited with the intention to provide a platform dedicated to release music with a greater focus on analogue, raw-sounding house & techno apart of the labels main work with a limitation to 50 vinyls only. the two track ep comes from buenos aires based artist matheu 646 who is an essential part of the argentian techno/house scene for more than ten years now. besides constantly playing various clubs around south america, be it solo or as one part of the dj duo proyecto house, he is the co-founder of buenos aires sound culture, a music collective organising one of the cities best underground parties! the a-side comes with a heavy kick, a changing 303 bassline and hypnotic chords which gives us a good example of matheu 646s approach to the deeper side of techno. *grey winds* is an old-school sounding jam with deep chords and melancholic strings, finished by energetic, classic claps!

new york endless is the first appearance on vinyl of new jersey born new yorker dan selzer. you may not have heard of him, but many of your favourite producers, bands and djs massively respect his record collection and ear. many of the sounds he has spent years exploring and djing can be heard via the three tracks that make up the strategies ep. elements of techno and house, idm, italo-disco and new wave, cosmic and kosmiche, krautrock and a certain debt to the new york school of minimalist composers all appear. the music is pure and (mostly) analog while still centred around accessible melodies and clean synthesized tones. golf channel every time!

we are proud to unveil the seventh release on telefonplan, osirus ep from anders hellberg, a berlin based producer and dj from south sweden. with osirus ep, it is immediately clear that anders is a fan and follower of the old school techno with elements of detroit techno and acid. four righteous slabs of hardware goodness is on the menu this time, all served tight and driving. from the opening track *beyond the stratosphere* with its pulsating rhythm and hypnotizing chords to *gondor*, a heavier, darker and dubbier acid anders showcases his uniquely modern flavour of techno. on the flip, *osirus* is a floor burning chord jam and *respond* finishes things perfect with hypnotic melody.

unstoppable youngster innershades comes with a new limited four tracker on the pinkman imprint! the belgium based talent shows hes definitely not a one trick pony and continues to explore his sound even further. this time by releasing two phat old school electro inspired bangers, and two synthesizer (nu)disco tracks which already proved to be fully effective on the floor!

italys niccolo detti aka nicco launched the recline music imprint mid 2008 and has since gone on to release material from the likes of oxia, mic newman and anonym. here we see nicco return with some new material via the imprint, in the shape of moon games, whilst enlisting some heavy hitting remix artists as well to create a punchy package with a widespread appeal. the original mix of moon games kicks things off, a classic meets contemporary house number. fusing old school elements such as meandering organ lines and stuttering guitar licks, while dubbed out vocals and bumpy rhythms add a modern charm to the composition.

contexterrior & tuning spork were launched in the early 2000s by jay haze and soon became critically acclaimed & influential, establishing - along with perlon - the new school minimal house & techno sounds of the 00s.

filsonik, one of new yorks finest old school underground dj/producers is down to make his debut on the illustrious hot creations imprint after his regular appearances at circo loco dc10 and close relationship with the martinez brothers brought him into orbit with jamie jones et al. a staple in jamies sets at the moment and always creating a major impact on the dance floor, dogfish is testament to filsoniks nuanced production skills and flair for a killer groove and a ridiculously infectious swagger.

back to black is proud to present one of the very first releases on the legendary def jam records label as part of its 30th anniversary. this classic 1984 12 inch single, produced by rick rubin himself, is a must have for any old school hip hop vinyl fan! pressed on heavyweight 180 gram vinyl, mp3 download code included.

the second lobster theremin white label comes from the mysterious australian producer, daze. making his release debut with four original tracks, daze covers varying strains of tough melodic house, ferocious acid and old school breakbeat, taking us on an experiential journey into the heart of british rave culture via detroit-influenced electro and rough and ready tape jams.

occasionally jay haze will take some time away from his productions on contexterrior to release music with other labels like leftroom and desolate, or he ll provide a mix for fabric. here, in 2014, jay haze debuts on soul clap - and brings some friends with him. these friends are signor andreoni, an italian producer that s not released a solo record since 2010 (his last was with haze) and the unknown jordy lockruf. -take a dip- is a new-school cut of retrospective italo with those moaning synths perfect for a rimini dancefloor, while the two joints with lockruf provide one clunky, slide guitar twanging disco jam and a shuffling house cut that ever so lightly verges on electro swing - but not too much!

dj dag is undoubtedly ranked as one of the german dj legends and just celebrated his 29th dj anniversary. arisen from the early frankfurt techno scene and well known due to his residencies at dorian gray, omen or u60311 and his consistently gigs at space ibiza. alongside his studio partner matthew kramer we are welcoming dj dag to the weplay label! with *follow me* these guys really flashing your ears and mind: 2k14-sound but still with an old-school vibe, hypnotic and dreamy but still driving atmosphere – an extraordinary mixture only dag and matthew can do!
