gone too long from rising duo him_self_her is a bonafide bomb - house with feeling and a massive bassline and killer vocal from kieran fowkes. reinvigorated by crosstown rebels for a re-release after it came out on mexican label cream couture last year, this time the infectious original comes backed with remixes from belgian hero compuphonic, who injects more bounce, bleeps and emotive melody and the mighty yousef whos darker circus rework is a deep affair of rolling drums and dubby textures

liverpool based andy ash hits the saft imprint with two excellent analog house jams. the overall sound andy comes up with, hints to the early machine driven house sounds from the late 80s on the a1 in love whilst transitioning into the more jammy house sound andy has been purveying on his string of latest releases on his a2 jam called black stem.on the b side saft regular kastil provides andy ashs >in love< with a heavy machine rework. kastil proves he has been crafting and perfecting his production skills with some new hardware gear. this remix hold the intense feel of a 4am sweaty club session. all and all saft proudly present the 5th installment in their series of pure and all round house releases.

marcmans dici ep released a few months ago had a massive response from djs and dancers as well. here, paragram revisits some of the greatest highlights of that record. the rework treatment is in the care of three amazing artists such as franco cinelli, dorian paic and jorge savoretti.

in 2011 jaki whitren & john cartwrights original international times lp saw a release on emotional rescue after originally hitting the shelves in 1982. the pair are now part of a remix ep by misericord and one-time internasjonal producer al usher, who supplies two remixes and a dub, while a spacey aphophenia dub to the track times has added for extra measure. ushers first rework of stay cool sounds like a 2013 meeting between a purple-clad prince and a young diana ross, while the dub version sees princes funk make way for giorgio moroder sound design. on the flip is a acoustic-leaning and inspirational this time, which could easily soundtrack a mesmeric highway-driving scene from thelma & louise.

this ep on memento records sees alfonso leon take his production skills to the next level. vinyl compresors soulful melodies and tribal percussions are matched by a deliciously funky and luscious bass line, until acid synth stabs open the way to a low-pitched, creepy, almost manic dark vocal that crawls along the groove.

wilde calm records is proud to present some say, a recently discovered song from the archive of arthur russell. the track was produced and mixed by arthur in 1985 for a solo project of steven halls that was originally intended for release on rough trade records. legendary disco producer bob blank recorded and engineered the project at his connecticut-based studio. some say features arthurs classic cello basslines, cracking boom bap drums and stevens floating vocals and synth pads. in true arthur fashion, the song abrubtly stutters, slinks and lurches halfway through for steven to complete his buddhist pop mantra. the b-side features an extended rework of some say by pocketknife using arthurs boss dr. rhythm dr-55 drum machine.

chicagos sean smith and tim mcalister (aka mc edits) team up. funky disco music is a housey rework of a rare african disco jam. universal love is a rework of an early 80s disco cut with a catchy chorus love our neighbor and k-passa reworks the live version of a disco classic. old tracks made modern sounding and new.

vulkandance started as a party for african dance music in berlin in 2010. the amazing feedback and success of the party led nomad to turn it into a series of events and into a concept (including theme based decoration and sometimes catering) that travelled and hosted some of the cream of afro and global funk/disco djs, including legends such as beppe loda.
