valgeir sigurdsson, former producer of bjšrk, has made his name as an exponent of musical subtlety. as an engineer and producer, hes often focused on the intimate, the miniature. draumalandid (dreamland), a documentary about the exploitation of icelands natural resources, tells a story about huge things-the fortunes of a whole nation, the destruction of vast landscapes, and the global economic forces, greater still than any nation, that fuel it all-and for his soundtrack to the film, valgeir has brought out a heavier set of tools. exciting music for fans of max richter, deaf center, bjšrk.

we are so proud to welcome the talented producer from chicago, kate simko, known for her great work on spectral. kate send us 2 amazing pieces of music... a-side, >lost in time<, made during a trip in argentina, shows the deep, intense and intimist sides of kate music. dark grooves lead by an amazing atmosfere made of pads, synths and keys... like dop said... they were in love with it, and wanted to remix it badly. on the b-side, the dop remix is a great reinterpretation of the track with a pop feeling, where jaw bring his vocals. another version of the remix, a really and special one will be released in 2010 on eklo. the second track gets in a more housey feeling, but still deep with famous kates rhodes/synthssounds, and a great toms hooks leading the track through her groovy organic and analogue rhythm.

phil kieran has been in the upper echelons of the electronic music game for more than a decade, but is only now releasing his debut album under his own name. known for rocking clubs and releasing a string of killer twelves, belfast-based phil has hooked up with german powerhouse cocoon in recent times. sven väths label is now about to release shh, a groundbreaking piece of work that will undoubtedly gain phil plaudits across the board. shh seems to not only reference every sound phil has ever loved in music, but is formulated in a completely fresh and futuristic way. listen carefully and you can detect elements of dub reggae, old hardcore like lfo, hip-hop, early 90s electronica such as autechre/black dog and other warp staples, as well as the futuristic techno that phil excels in. for the album phil went back to old sound lab recordings dating back to the 1950s and 60s. utilising some of these sounds in the initial construction, he built up tracks using a combination of old samples sourced from original and weird places and some live new instrumentation as well. there are live drums, some electric / acoustic/ bass guitar and live keyboard playing as well as some choice guest vocalists.
