the third and final remix package for mathias kadens masterpiece album -studio 10- comes along with two reworks of mathias vakant label mates onur Özer and dewalta. onur Özers >hâre remix<, a massive, bass driven rework for kadens >chazz<, takes the track to a deeper, more jazzy level, until it fades out with a dreamy yet abstract melody after 11 minutes and counting. david koch aka dewalta takes on >ikenga< (an african god of time, success and achievement), which is surely kadens most played track of the album. david maintains the acidic vibe of the original, adds his very own funk and sends the track back to the dance floor.

>les patates<, the fresh new rrygular release by tassilo, one half of pan-pot, is not an homage to french agriculture but a serious techno smasher with high club potential. at first, theres just a nice party atmosphere and … then this rough beat drops in! the small potatoe >petite patate< surprises by adding rudimental elements like the hihat and snare drum always a little late. but you have the feeling you havent missed something yet. this number just sneaks from behind and lulls you in with billowing pads until you sense the final rave sound as a self-evident consequence of it all. the message by g-tech right before the drop proves right - there is not a lack of vibration here! its all about the mixture … and in this case its just felicitous: male choir, clanking cymbals and finally the riff that this track subsists on. tassilo knows how to send the short melody-figure through the different stages of sound design, even though it might have been lively enough without it. this gives the big potatoe >grosse patate< a level of dynamic, that most contemporary techno releases just dont provide.

its been a while for mr lovebirds and also the label teardrop to serve some fresh slices of homemade house jam. well, we think it better not to put out every bonus beat we program and rather wait until we have something that really deserves to be thrown in todays pool of musical randomness. do we sound bitter again? sorry, for that … must be the age. so … love & happiness. yeah, i want that and probably everybody does … well here ya go: its a slick slow house bomb with proper oldskool 909 drums and some sliding portamento chords that wont never leave your head!! at least until the breakdown when this track takes you even further back in time to that beautiful intro that has rarely been used more beautifully. its been tested for months now by vincenzo, phonique and mr bird himself and devestated every floor so far. let me put it this way - this is biiiig!!!! flipside is the rain - classic 90ies deephouse with a touch of kerri which we all love right? this has the typical lovebirds warmth that we all need in these modern techno times. and in this autumn too. none other than mr steve bug took care of the remix and delivered a superb very 90ies new yorican style version. keeping the warmth he added some percussion to it and turned this into a nice builder. enough talk … we are very excited about this release and looking forward to your full love on this one. play it loud and everywhere!! and maybe even chart it if youre a good lad!!

after several releases on mathematics as contra communem opinionem, cco presents his latest release on the promising new label lux rec. with his impressive ep the secret life of a transistor bassline cco proves us once again his ability to space out and rock hard at the same time. what more do you need? this journey starts off in the sewers of a miserable city on the western hemisphere and takes us higher until we freely float in space. as we move at the speed of light but with no perception of time, we eventually land on planet venus. this is where jack inserts his pleasure plug into the acid machine and sets off a dirty romp. in our quest for the secrets of life, we thereafter push boundaries further and explore even far away galaxies. always bearing in mind the infinity of time and space.

the 2nd sampler opens with >mym 230 (rip)<, a track taken from his planet e debut release from 1998. it also features one of his biggest tracks to date, >cant take it< which was the debut recording of soul vocalist dwele. >antares< and >crosswtown< are two tracks take from the artists personal vault. tracks which were recorded back in the day, but remained unreleased ... until now! with this compilation we celebrate reclooses early works from the late 90s, early 00s. this material is often regarded as his best. the compilation includes his best music from that period, both released and unreleased.

the new release from wigflex is a showcase for hizatron, one of most exciting and forward-thinking producers in spam chop s nottingham crew and, like a rave-up in a haunted house, it s dark, loud and batshit insane. executive ball scratcher is jinky and elegant until it explodes into a million glittering pieces of shimmering alien melody-box noise. at all times the insistent, pulsing beats and the thick bass stabs keep the track firmly rooted on the dancefloor, whilst its eyes and fingers lift to the stars. on >klonndyke final<, layers of battling, aggressive, organic percussion pave the way for a dirty, banging bassline and morphing, insane synth lines. constantly building, on the move and entirely unpredictable. a synth line evoking classic techno of the past is messed with on >telescope dope<, like a child melting a slug with his magnifying glass until all that remains is a scattered and horrific sludge. pummeling beats bring it together, creating a hypnotic and terrifying finale. with this release hizatron stakes a claim as one of the brightest young things in the uk electronic dance scene. with its shifting, exploratory layers of melody, thick bass and complex beats, the ep further blurs the lines between house, techno and dubstep, combining moments of iridescent beauty with raw, guttural power. a record for headphone enthusiasts and dancefloor paragons alike. watch out.

tejada and humphrey made their debut together late in 09 with their >marooned ep<. >assimilation< continues the theme of being marooned in los angeles. the four works compiled here are the result of the best moments out of 20 recording sessions. the music is for the most part assembled with analog instruments with humphrey and tejada bringing their modular gear together for the sessions. humphreys knowledge of synths and programming is quite extensive. he until recently helped operate la based big city music, a dealer of modular and boutique synthesizers.

this part of the urban graffiti saga focuses on the elements that make up our sound. covering all aspects, these tracks have been sourced from some of the most prolific artists in the scene over a period of time right up until the present, almost cataloging the progression of the scene as far as this side is concerned. this will take on the form of two 3-track eps with two additional tracks available for free download. if that isnt enough, we are also going to be giving away a free mix courtesy of d-man and h.o.d featuring tracks from the elements series including exclusives and forthcoming material.

a1. >everybody techno< - this is typical of gideons dance floor techno style, thick beats with a marching bass-line. from the first beat we are guided through a tough no-holds-barred trip into an unforgiving world of the darker sides of techno music. a retrospective vocal with a sinister laugh completes this evil peak-time track.
a2. >flight to right now< - this minimal track snaps along with a very basic beat and synth combo. the synth rises as the track progresses to keep dance floors moving. there is a wonderfully simple aspect to this track that gets under the skin and allows people to really connect with it.
b1. >recession tool< (vocal mix) - recession tool is a chunky tech house track with a wonderfully chewed up vocal and ever-present reverse snares. the track pumps forward until a nice rising breakdown lifts to complete with more vocals and intricate drum loops.
b2. >rico< - rico is a long progressive track with a slow builds and a warped lead line. the least aggressive track on the ep and possibly the least expressive. that said, it still ticks along seamlessly with a perfectly crafted warble and smart drums.

next up on nang we get tooled up with our disco pick-axe to mine one of the most authentic italo vaults, that of once-forgotten-but-now-hero-again beppe loda. having begun djing in brescia aged 16, loda was resident at gambaras soon to be legendary typhoon club from 1980 until the club closed in the same year as the paradise garage, a year before acid house officially began in 1987.

>burnt chrome< is edwin james aka currogated tunnels first release on district of corruption that he held until the right label came along. edwin was determined to get this 10 minutes techno track onto vinyl without making any exceptions. soon after doc decided to sign track, richie hawtin added it to his favorites and hundreds of plays + comment.
the burnt chrome ep also features a more forward new school rave remix from doc head, aaron hedges, and simon beeston (doc / highgrade). this mix is a redux of the melodic beauty of the original with a more raw and percussive drive.

until now duffstep has hidden in the seedy undergrowth of london always in disguise, clandestine and covert, ever plotting his imminent escape. this bid for freedom then, is called >getting to sirius<. sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, in ancient greek times sirius was said to mark the beginning of summer, where women became aroused and men became weak. duffsteps debut album >getting to sirius< is a blend of dub influenced, down tempo beats winding through layers of melody, synths and vocals softening the blow and giving a nice, warm and fuzzy edge to the thick slabs of sonic concrete. though you dont have to wait long before a nice big bass-line knocks you down on your arse again.

originally recorded between 1974 and 1978 at industrial records studio in london >the space between< album was first released as a 90 minute cassette in 1980 on throbbing gristles industrial records label. it wasnt until 1991 that it was again released by mute records on cd. although tracks from >the space between< have appeared on numerous compilations since its release, the album has never been available on vinyl until now.

small low profile run of this reggie dokes >until tomorrow< remix 12. a-side is done by serge who finally did hit the studio with his buddy gerd and played around a bit with the lovely original version. flip side is done by the talented ben sun (known for his tracks on the new voyeurhythm label). two fine house version approaching the original on two different ways. highly limited copies with simple black label and royal oak stamp.

michigan central station built in 1913 for the michigan central railroad, was detroit, michigans passenger rail depot from its opening in 1913 until the discontinuance of amtrak service on january 6, 1988. at the time of its construction, it was the tallest rail station in the world. the building, located in the corktown district of detroit still stands today, though it remains unoccupied. restoration projects and plans have gone as far as the negotiation process, but none have come to fruition. spread throughout the city of detroit and its surrounding metropolitan area, the decay of once magnificent buildings during the industrial revolution and automobile era now cast a shadow of despair on a once flourishing city. these monuments of achievement now lay barren and forsaken by city government. infrastructural restoration and city development are fundamental elements in detroits recovery, and the recovery of cities worldwide. it is time for revival in our cities, but first, in our souls. the michigan central station ep is a platform for this change.

after leaving behind the somalian pirates, geiom is cruising the sunny waters of the indian ocean when he picks up a distress signal on his scanner. he follows the signal until he locates a tiny remote island and a guy called bowly, who said that he was on his way from france to the new world, but got totally lost. judging by the age of the map he was using its easy to see how. bowly spent his time on the island hanging out with the locals who amuse themselves by creating a unique style of music on some amazing handcrafted instruments. geiom helps bowly get on his way again, and leaves him with a more useful map. some months later, bowly beams over his music as a gift from his new found homeland in canada ? the tracks are like some strange mutation of those distant tropical players and the uk-based pirate radio transmissions that bowly has been tuning into ? geiom loves the result and decides to send them straight over to transition in london for mastering and release on berkane sol. this 12 has been getting played by selectors like ? subswara crew nyc (soul motive), brackles (rinsefm), grevious angel (soul jazz), martin kemp (blunted robots), cooly g (hyperdub), shortstuff (ramp), spamchop (wigflex), oneman (rinsefm)?

they live in the clubs, eat through their noses and sleep standing up. the cheapers do the same, but the title no groupies and ugly dancers is directed at the mean faced ravers and talkers that lurk in the dark corners of club. the cheapers are sending a message to all those types with this release, upon you 36. they begin by lighting a bonfire on a1, dancing around the fire like crazed polka-shamans, until the final minimal priest has thrown his bible into the embers. next they attack the unwashed go-gos, hobby strippers and ugly dancers on b1. eventually reaching out and apologizing to the shy and quiet real music lovers that like to sway dreamily on b2.

the longawaited counterpart to the world famous: eve by day !! big with: anja schneider, adam beyer, joris voorn, steve bug, joel mull, dominik eulberg, james holden, laurent garnier, solomun, ripperton after admired releases on poker flat and of course connaisseur, things were a bit quiet around patrick chardronnet. these days are over now! patrick returns with a big bang offering this wonderful double a-side on connaisseur recordings and opens a new chapter of his delightfully, trippy & emotional adventures. enchanting, mesmeric and deeply touching, these two up-building tracks are reinforcing chardronnets hypnotic side once again. boggler is a simple and reduced spacer that features wonderfully processed drums and an endless arpeggio hypnosis. the track works highly effective only with a few elements until the beat comes back after a massive break. underlined with a strong sub-bassline, the whole track starts to fly away and is taking the whole dancing crowd with on its journey. eve by night – a counterpart to >eve by day<, patricks biggest hit so far, starts rather smoothly and upbuilding. then the track turns to a skipping, complex and meandering monster, which is jacked-up with some dirty hats and a playful synth theme. the theme deconstructs more and more and a logarithm assembles the parts of the theme to a new and unexpected melody experience. sophisticated !

the vinyl a side of release no.002 is brought by one of the label owners himself. alex niggemann. jewels is a track that gives you the sensation or maybe a vague feeling that something wild is going to happen. alex niggemann builds up the tention slowly. with a deep beat and some ethnical vocals he combines the secrets of an ancient world with the nowadays club scene. the warm toned percussions groove at a pace that definitely makes you move your feet, then your hips follow until your whole body moves to the rythmn. with lots of athmospheric details alex niggemann has created an audio piece to start perfect open air dj sets with. listening closely to it one can determine bells, street noises, sounds of goats or sheeps and a crowd talking. these elements are floating timelessly and combine into a hypnotic wave of sounds. to create a striking dynamic the producer has used calmness within intense passages. but the slightly more suble moments soon open up and harmonic string chords form into the arrangement which are eclapsing in the vocal hook line, one can barely not memorize. after former releases at labels such as hi-freaks and kindisch the recenty formed soulfooled is proud to present this munich dj and producer team with a staggering new track, findling & lihab created a deephouse mix with ol times combining smooth vocals with raw edgy chords.

label owner donga met blake when both djd at brightons forward thinking drum n bass night carbon spinning similar shades of the deeper end of dubstep. this lead to the idea of hooking up in the studio, and whilst initial experiments at 140bpm were promising, it wasnt until they decided to lower the tempos to housier speeds that their sound clicked into place. this sound is a balanced fusion of soulful house, deep textured techno and rhythms absorbed from garage, funky and broken beat. these 3 immaculate tracks have a simple appeal but also contain many layered sonic details for the closer listener.

i know, i know… these tunes can really not be classified as house tools. martin beume, who also released the fabulous texgreen ep on outils, presents three unorthodox house tracks packed with the two winner components: weird melodies and mighty basslines. step right up! - the first cut on this release, gives you the feeling of being in a khole in the middle of a freak show carnival. catchy and odd melody snippets rotating diffusely on a never ending marching groove - absurdity in its most elegant form. slowly but steady – its a telling title! old school to the core, this track builds up steadily and adds layer for layer of jazzy samples until the tune is completed to an alluring dancefloor killer. flowing ribbon – what a lovely and sweet tune.

mowars 6th release is delivered by label boss franco cangelli, 2 solid deep techno cuts accompanied by an exquisite mlz treatment. >paper cut< is a smooth and hypnotizing dubbed out techno track for the deeper dancefloor moments. stripped down and most efficient, paper cuts intoxicating dreamy pad sucks you in from the start and gets you hooked on the dubby chords and an addictive bassline. simplicity and solid deepness!
>when they come< on the other hand is a darker affair with ominous pads and fierce kickdrums backed up by deep basses and funky schizoid sounds. dark detroitish techno for brainwashed dancefloors. mlz (half of pendle coven), turns paper cut into a darker cut. dark acidic basslines, a pinch of robert hood mixed with the deep dubby side of the original. very captivating until the very end of the track. another strong mowar cut!

here we have a double a-side 12-inch, with an intriguing new development of the secondo sound. still banging, still aimed at the club but with a sense of maturity and laid-backness, that the previous secondo material for dreck records might not have been centred around. the whole outlook has become more house orientated and we are very excited about this new mixture of the secondo splice-funk with the steadiness of early 90s house generating its own idiosyncratic sound. on the a-side, i think im gonna likeestablishes the housey mood of the 12straight off. a brief vocal sample is dotted over a relaxed rhythm until a break mid-track introduces the second half to its full extent and bloom. ædoktor panglosson the b-side continues with the mid-tempo flavour set out by the aside and is defined by a steady build up towards a disco sample beautifully placed towards the end of the track, where a heavy bass line cuts short the euphoria of disco strings. the sampling and references in both tracks have been pushed to the background and mentioning any of them would not do this exciting new material any justice. its all fresh!

the phenomenal handclap band out of nyc dropped a brilliant debut album last year and first single >15 to 20< was a stand out track. hector works label founder anthony mansfield got the opportunity to remix the track and was so into the tune that he rinsed two versions. while these versions got widespread exposure and distribution from both friendly fire and gomma, anthonys remixes were until now digital only. we want our records! the disco mix is a slower funk version using the catchy vocals over a helping of sweet disco dubûthe punk funk mix uses all the elements of the track and points it for a dance floor!
