after the success of the leitzeiten ep from turbo turbo last year, we release now for the very first time this digital bonus track inner walls in combination with a fresh new remix from dan curtin. dan curtin better known with releases on strictly rhythm, peacefrog, sinewave, sublime, mobilee, paper, epm and his own label metamorphic and of course with his side project purveryors of fine funk (peacefrog records) delivered us a typical dc acid bomb. this mix is a pure bomb on the dance floor. together with the amazing original version is this record a sure player for every house and techno lover. we are proud to release this both great track son one 12inc. this record will be available on vinyl only, not as digital release.

doktu rhute muuzic (formerly roy hytower) has enjoyed a full career from his late teens to this present day, a career that spans over 50 years. his first experiences were singing around mobile, alabama. in 1962 he came to chicago, replacing mighty joe young as rhythm guitarist for otis rush. often adopting a soul-slanted sound, hytower cut a handful of 45rpm singles in the 1960s and 70s for several local labels such as avin, expo, brainstorm, and jiffy. in june 2016 his tune “song of deliverance” was featured on tramp’s “peace chant- compilation. in recent years roy hytower has self-released a couple of cds, however under his new moniker, doktu rhute muuzic. “i’m in your corner” and “tip jar” were released on two different cd albums. this is the only chance to get these two wonderful tunes on vinyl. don’t miss it!

it all began with a licensing inquiry for a sister funk cut which we wanted to include on our deep funk comp titled “feeling nice vol. 3”. after the deal was completed producer fred forsh mentioned that the backing band of nadine brown’s masterpiece “leave me alone” had released a 45 themselves under their name teakwood. after mr. forsh played us both sides we knew that this 45 would have to be re-issued. what was about to follow nobody of us ever expected. mr. forsh told us that teakwood recorded almost a dozen of songs which were supposed to be released on a full length album. for unspecified reasons the album was never released and it remained in the can for almost 40 years. finally, we are very proud to announce the release of teakwood’s debut album “a distant star” in early 2017. until then you have to be content with this 45 rpm single re-issue.

u know me records in collaboration with polish juke proudly presents the very first polish footwork vinyl record rhythm baboons the lizard king ep. rb: the lizard king is an outcome of my fascination with chicago footwork/juke. most of the tracks were created during a couple of spontaneous home studio sessions earlier this year. it was a raw play with the sounds and sampling with no particular plan that made the material more fun and dance-friendly than any of my previous records. the record features five original tracks and one remix by the legendary dj fulltono (japan). mastered by miko&#322,,aj bugajak, album artwork created by stach szumski.

fans of tramp records may remember the band the bionic i. their song disco claus was featured on the third volume of santa s funk & soul christmas party. actually, the city news are none else than the bionic i! eric dunbar, member of both outfits, got introduced to the piano at age 5. in 1969 he started playing music with the city news band, a new orleans rhythm & blues band. bustin up is the side unless you like the kung-fu craze inspired chan the man that was around in 1975.

one more time we choose two little known gems for re-release on 45 rpm single. another single by the same group is pretty in demand by funk 45 collectors. these two sides are not that much known but they certainly deserve the same attention. while funky you is pretty good, uptempo funk, the b-side is the real beauty of this record. love come down is a fine example of chicago soul which has not been re-released yet. hopefully many people appreciate the work behind this release, from both the original musicians as well as those who are responsible for this high quality re-issue.

following his stunning everything is nothing ep, which kicked off the hubble telescope series for solar one music in 2015, luxus varta (aka emeric di paolo) is back with a new four track ep for french label, intramuros. ‘rosenhan experiment’ (named after david rosenhan’s famous study to determine the validity of psychiatric diagnosis, published in 1973 under the title “on being sane in insane places”) takes us on another electro trip into the human mind with paris the black fu from detroit grand pubahs once again making an appearance, on the track ‘losquato’. the ep opens with the wonderfully shimmering ‘wenn’ before luxus varta makes striking use of his background as a drummer on ‘lizzy’. ‘losquato’ is a playful addition with stripped back rhythms under paris’ story telling that bemoans a man’s work frustrations and resulting mental state (“i gave up therapy about a month ago. my therapist jumped out of a window”), while closer ‘tempsun’ is almost melancholy in its measured minimalism. recommended for lovers of drexciya and dopplereffekt.
