moving into the latter stage of 2015, drumcode are keeping up the refined techno that they have displayed and are making sure that they continue to keep up this form throughout heading into 2016. steve rachmad is a name familiar to everyone within the electronic music scene. he has been a big part of the scene for over two decades and boasts a whole host of records and shows.
he has been remixed by the likes of ricardo villalobos, joris voorn and more. rachmad is now hosting his own studio 80 based club night kis where he plays mesmerising extended sets. steve rachmad is welcomed to the vinyl-only offshoot drumcode limited. disturbance is a punchy little number that has a stuttering synth that rises over the top of the pounding kick drum. steps takes it up a notch with a simplistic bleep pattern that modulates throughout that is awash with a throbbing undercurrent.

with a career stretching back to 1998, via releases on dance mania, juke trax, blank mind, and planet mu, everyone should know dj clent by now. crosstalk actually unleashed his first internationally distributed tracks via dj slugo’s subterranean playhouse label, and we are excited to have acquired the rights to distribute all the beatdown house releases, worldwide. dj roc aka the crack capone is another artist who’s first international releases were disseminated via our digital program, we also distributed various juke city mix cds. his break came via his album on planet mu, and has also had a recent ep via duck n’ cover. dj t-rell & c-bit are relatively unknown, internationally, but have been active on the chicago scene for at least a decade. you’ll find their tracks on local mix cds by slugo, deeon, and clent, among others.

we are so happy and proud to embark ambient noise level on the mfd ship for the 5th release! a.n.l. is a project from our dear friend daniel sanchez, who has recently been exploring new sonic territories, fetching sounds from the deepest corners of his universe. he produced a masterpiece of an ep/mini album with seven ambient, dub infused tracks, ear candy all the way. enjoy!

following up the fantastic summer re-release of upsetting keys “empathy” ep, path records follows with its first new catalogue number since 2006. path 008 marks the return of artist fate 258, whose 1999 “why 2k” path 001 ep has been a hotly sought after item on discogs. the three-track ep contains two exciting new mixes of cult classic techno track “the path”. the a-side version “path to hell” is the harder of the pair, a dark edgy journey into the unknown with shuffling 808 rhythms providing much of the melody. “path to heaven” slows the groove down and adds warm juno pads throughout the mix for a very deep detroit flavored techno style. on the final track “heaven or hell” sort of a broken beat downtempo piece, sparse vocals and bladerunner samples mix to complete the dystopian concept. these mixes of “the path” are considered pre-mixes, as they were completed in 1998 before the original release of path 001. fate 258 is a project from brooklyn producer reade truth, known for his work over the last decades on labels such as planet e, sonic groove, n-syde, wurst and strictly rhythm to name a few. limited to 250 worldwide, with the first 100 including full black and white cover art.

franse are back! 002 is another single sided club stomper of drum focused techno music. distorted kick drums clash with driving hi hats and percussion elements, only subtly accompanied by distorted layers and noise. hand numbered, vinyl only and limited to 150 copies.

edizioni mondo presents serie due! while the first chapter with four releases dedicated to seascapes ended with the compilation collezione, we are now delving into a new part of edizioni mondo’s world that presents new views and also artists. niagara, the first release, anticipates the l.u.c.a. album and contains 3 different versions of the same track: one from rotla, one from polysick and a l.u.c.a.s own quirky version that is surprisingly dancefloor-friendly. the name mondo has its roots in “mondo movies” is inspired by libarary music and has the goal to produce music that is descriptive of concepts, images and environments. good listening!

sold out! what happens when scales and patterns of contradicting emotional imprints combine? when light and darkness, bitter and sweet, frost and blaze collide? those are the questions that johannes heil chooses to address on his upcoming album, opening up a vast grey-scaled area for the listener to traverse with techno as a blindfold. <black light> sees the german techno mainstay return to the album format for an intimate ten track odyssey of close-curtained introspection. heil chooses the words of fellow futurist nikola tesla to set the stage of the black light story: >black is the true face of light, only we do not see this<. track names are dropped in favor of a chronology of scenes, better adapted to the seemingly polar opposition of the forces that the figure and cocoon regular conjures throughout the album. everything that we perceive is processed and set into relation with past memories, digested emotions and iron-branded impressions. battling the current, johannes heil chooses to challenge certitudes by forcing us out of our comfort zones into the absence of light. if the pictures painted on >black light< are dark, they are also far from monochromatic. the machine-driven sonic prism acts both as the heavy cloud and the burst of light that shoots through to guide us. its the aggressor and the victim, the clenched teeth and the jubilant, the paranoia and the sanity of the mind. its pure heads-down driving techno with volumes of grandiose. provoking our senses, extending his art onto our personal canvases, the exile boss gives the listener the freedom to interpret the emotional context of each piece, to write the scripts of the individual scenes. the impression that >black light< leaves upon first listen testifies that 20 years down the road, johannes heil shows no sign of slowing down.

super mama djombo orchestra, guinee-bissau, west africa. all songs recorded in lisbon, 1980 - re-mastered from the original reels. six archive recordings are now available on vinyl for the first time.. super mama djombo is one of west africas greatest roots orchestras and especially for the people of guiné-bissau. the band marked a new national identity and reinvented portuguese creole as a language of national unity.

where to now? records are proud to welcome back space afrika, following their long sold out debut release ‘above / below the concrete’. this four track 12” ‘primrose avenue’ can be seen as a continuation of the themes and ideas explored on that debut, but pushes the manchester duos palette of scorched inner city soundscapes, considered field recordings and rolling dubbed out techno dread further than ever before.

nice price deal !!! hypnotic lines and machine made sounds and noises are what to expect by petter b on this 8th release on bond. all four tracks were made during one weekend with a simplistic setup. its straight forward techno with sparse arrangement, focusing on the experience of how a melody or a sound can come alive on a dancefloor when played right. the label bond is the brainchild of swedish techno dj and producer petter b. the concept of the label is music by djs for djs. the label focuses on releasing tracks that enable the dj, rather than the producer, to be creative. it is based on that special bond which is created every time a dj combines tracks, loops and sounds live into something new and unique.

for the fifth installment in the common thread series we are launching our series of various artists eps called *knives replace air*. for the first effort in this series we have the likes of chinaski, mangulicafm, 33.10.3402 and gitchell moore cooking up stuff. expect an odd mixture of genres all sharing a common thread in terms of feel. maybe not the most dancefloor friendly record but definitely some kind of miniature soundtrack in its own right.

*agraphobia* by la synthesis is considered by many as one of the most beautifully crafted string-driven techno tracks of all time. originally released in 1994 it has received somewhat of a legendary cult status. 21 years later it is now time to breathe new life into this essential track and make it available again for a new generation of electronic music enthusiasts. together with de:tuned, la synthesis handpicked some of their favourite producers to rework the original and the results are mind-boggling to say the least.

dka starts the fire with his endless no hope. a track that has exactly the right amount of everything. jens bond whispers the lovingly crafted insae, it could mean madness but why does it sound so good rafaele castiglione & praah musique are 10.000 km afar from each other and teamed up to create the mind boggling ayahuasca ceed. debuts here and brings us the perfect soundtrack to get lost in. endnight is light and darkness at the same time, a stroboscope of emotions.

chi-town’s al & tone are back with “volume 6”. the “praise” side features “mad dash”, a groovin’ gospel tune with a funky bassline and sweet horn riffs, plus the spaced out “my soul”. the “rejoice” side has the killer cut “u”, a sweet modern soul jam along with “worship” a sick lo-fi cut.

club trax, is an anonymous series of records created by djs and intended exclusively for djs. pressed in a limited amount, club trax is available on vinyl only. with strong roots and knowledge, club trax presents a fine mixture in upfront house, bringing together future classics with reworks of titles that have influenced the development of upfront house music through the last generation. for this fourth installment, we are dealing with two completely fresh club trax reworks of an all time 80s classic that has brought thousands together and forever.

after contributing a remix for our label in 2011 daniel stefanik now returns to raum with his first solo single under his new moniker dlsk.
the a side * sense of doubt* is a bit more stripped down and melodic, as the b side and also the title track of this release * subterraneans* is more of a jazzy house groove, that simply doesn’t stop rolling and keeps the tension with subtle variations and other nice little gimmicks. as always we truly hope that you enjoy these tracks as much as we do and we are happy to have daniel back on board as for sure he can be called one of germanys top notch producers.

bruno pronsato’s debut album as archangel, the bedroom slant, released in 2014, saw the producer update the style he has developed over the last decade on labels such as hello?repeat, perlon, dfa and thesongsays, and in the process, manifesting his love of pop, rock and post-punk in his music for the first time. on this ep, selected tracks from the debut album are reworked by dean blunt, peter gordon & oliver coates. the vinyl release includes a downloadcode.

the sophomore ep by label head n conduit. the name and inspiration for the pumps ep is derived from new yorks infamous strip club, pumps. located on the border of queens and brooklyn on the english kills canal, its one of the last holdouts of seedy and unkempt brooklyn, now that the high rises and artisanal establishments have taken over. the pumps ep consists of three original tracks and a remix that are supposed to capture whats left of this through raw analog sequences and drum programming.
