timebomb - the uxb mixes (uxb - (abbreviation) unexploded bomb) is the latest public offering from the enigmatic duo of confucius and bunny - better known as rabbit in the moon. first featured on the dolby 5.1 collection entitled awaken it has since been given select remix treatments kept very secretive until now.
ok the sad truth is we have been searching for this dat close to 6 years since rabbit in the moons david christophere and san diego native sotero finished the project. both mixes were done around winter 95 / 96. despite excitement around the label at the time, eventually the tracks fell to the wayside under the age-old excuse of >figuring out what to do with them<. meanwhile, knowing a good thing when he heard it, three made a dat copy and cut some actetates to play out. they made their way around a good portion of the earth via himself, some friends and one west coast dj who boldly vowed to just put it out on his own --- off the slate --- if we didnt get our act together. fortunately he didnt, but neither did we because both david and three misplaced the dat copies and sotero never had one!
if the doorman fronts like he dont know you... tell him that youre with the dj whether he is friend or foe, the nightmaker or the night-breaker, the mythical nightclub doorman is a universal figure of influence for clubbing fans worldwide. dj nibc, the berlin-based, gothenburg-born dj, producer and trunkfunk records label owner and vocalist anthony mills pay tongue-in-cheek tribute yet also take him to task with their energetic workout >the doorman<. capturing the anticipation, anguish and unpredictability of conversations held on the threshold of clubland, a hapless and faceless figure is ready to rave, and is unleashed via a processed vocal over a tightly-wound acid tech beat. a buzzing twonote bassline and pummelling drums set the stomping
next eklektisch anthem. edu imbernon & los suruba pres number 5. punset sees the trio in full-on-goosepimple-enducing mood. each copy of the record should include the instructions - one to be taken, at sunset or sunrise for heightened effect. the boys have encapsulated the finest of balearic moods and brought them to the dancefloor once again. the deep throb of the progressive bassline, whilst allowing the track to breathe, has enough power to drive the track. the fluid sounds in the breaks, together with its simple piano riff and bell chimes, bring us down before the synth melody and weighty bass shoot us to the stratosphere on a wave of smiles... on remix duty is none other than hamburgs finest and diynamic music head honcho, solomun. turning punset on its head, yet maintaining its epic feel, the german produce
undeniably a big record! 20 minutes of kerosene for those inclined towards the more adventurous path: an epic nu-disco-blended original as if cc had a feast with lindstrom. london resident mark chambers delivers a sure hands-up-in-the-air deep house mix and reboot joy confession 1st take is for the fearless amongst our fans: rough detroit analog spirit that will blow your soundsystem or your mind or both.
part 4 in the acid test series from absurd recordings drops from berlins holger zilske. a pure analog jam using just a 303, 101 and a 808 - its a slow pulsing bass heavy acid work out. comes with remixes from john tejada and stockholms axel boman. initial pressing comes with download codes in handpainted sleeves (represses will be sans download code in generic sleeves).
a true master of the deeper arts, phonique has, since his first steps into the world of production back in the early 2000s, become synonymous with and eulogised for his beautifully cultured productions. labels such as simple, buzzin fly, souvenir and of course systematic have all played host to his music, but it s his work for steve bugs dessous imprint for which he is most renowned. first up is phoniques solo production, >2 my jungle< which sees him step into jacking tech-house territory. lovely open hi-hats are paired with the punch of the kick drum. a trumpet riff enters the fray, backed by the grooving throb of the bassline. its vocal samples are twisted and filtered throughout as phonique creates a wonderfully trippy summer anthem. on the flip he teams up with desolat badboy, guti. still riding high on the wave of support for his fantastic debut album >patio de juegos<, the argentinian producer phonique show just how much fun they can have in their electronic playground. beautifully deep and with a lush rhodes melody, >divertimento< entices us with its sultry summer vibes. a polar opposite, yet complete match to the a-side

youandewans utterly spellbinding and unutterably lovely >1988< is given the remix treatment by one of the few artists with a delicate enough touch to handle it with the care it deserves. jimpster teases in a beautifully soft synth hook from the outset followed by the heavenly keys of the original before bringing the entire mix together with a gently bubbling bassline. pure summer bliss.
support by dapayk, martin landsky, dj sneak, kisk, toby dreher, brothers vibe, andre kronert and many more.
amazing dancefloor aiming bombs. a journey into a mixup of house, techy electronic, jazz and funk. collaboration with pezzner, aki bergen, markus schmahl and others are only the pike of the iceberg. he is one of the unique acts who isnt afraid of mixing styles, genres, vocals, feelings and rhythms. mastermind scope made a huge oldschool sounding house bomb and eelke kleijn metamorphosed the original into a floor bombing and dark sounding, dancing monster.
slamming remix ep. the first track of this ep is a special vinyl version which is a bit more trippy than the 2010 original. the second one is a remix by solan who take the vocals and pitch them down to create a fantastic detroit-styled remix. matthias meyer and patlac who are well known from their latest releases on labels like cecille, liebe*detail and baalsaal contribute with the second remix, an incredible tech-house bomb that will surely do the job on every floor of this planet. last but not least filtertypen spice up the original with their unique rhythms and some fresh new chords.
new kanada wades deep into the white waters of bass for this black summerdub. >my best dress< is a tough, confident jacker with awesome, mystic vocals by rosina of lal. 808 thumps, moog whispers, and a serious cr78 swing nicholas murray (aka murr) really massages the mixing board on this one, and the resulting production shimmers with unexpected aggression. adams remix extends the raw groove into a 12-minute journey that beats the wooden floorboards into pleasant submission. disco hats, b52 bass lines and suburban base drops the new feel for the old style. new kanada goes blue.
