repress - fallout ‘the morning after’, produced by lenny dee and tommy musto, was originally released in 1987 on the legendary fourth floor records. originally recorded as a 17 minute opus, the track was edited into different versions, the sunrise mix and the aftermath. the names fallout and the morning after were tommy and lenny’s personal references to a private after hours club called the rooftop on the 23rd floor of a building in new york where they played, named as a nod to the after effects of the late nights and early mornings of these parties. ‘the morning after’ crossed many genres of dance music, and was notoriously adopted by grooverider and fabio who championed it at rage, their legendary thursday night party in london. remastered for this re-issue, and also tastefully remix by nu disco producer of the moment, purple disco machine, a new lease of life awaits for this genuine classic which has truly stood the test of time.

ascetic limited is shifting gears, focusing on solo eps dedicated to the artists that form the collective. to kick it off they present an ep from renowned milanese techno producer wrong assessment, who throughout his career in techno has proven himself to be one of the most interesting producers coming out of italy. from his collaborative works with the late max_m as overall severity to his solo works as wrong assessment, his tracks are always unique. influences ranging from minimal to hard pounding techno bangers, through house grooves and ambient arrangements, he still is able to transmit his sound and vision with his music.

there was only ever going to be one choice to launch first floor. not only is dubbyman the cover star of our debut publication of the same name, but he s also the face and sound of influential spanish label deep explorer, in-demand producer/remixer and long-time favourite with us. so the opportunity to collaborate on a special edition 7- vinyl release was one we couldn t miss. so far, featuring south african vocalist and musician ras vadah from the therapy collektive, is an extended version of the laidback, jazzy opening teaser from dubbyman s debut album deep is dead. deep explorer stalwart leo gunn, on remix duties for the first time, takes the same track and gives it a piano-driven, dance-floor focused spin. the accompanying fanzine not only includes interviews with both dubbyman and gunn, but also features articles on johannes albert, tommo & jonno, jesus gonsev, arnheim, sensible soccers and more.

the first release on leipzig s ph17 is a compilation of pieces by companioned artists and promising talents which try to pass the limits of regular club music by combining its roots with experimental and weird structures. leibniz sampled his playstation sounds, ariadne created a symbiosis between opera singing and heavy electro acoustics, hobor, who is usually non-conform in his productions, experiments with loopy techno sounds which are creating their own dynamics in-between. annanan and stanley deliver breaks, lo-fi electro and wicked melodies.

afrika bambaataa, rapper, producer, dj from the south bronx, new york. afrika bambaataa is one of the originators of breakbeat djing and is respectfully known as the godfather of zulu nation and amen ra of hip hop culture. in 2007 has been nominated for induction into the rock hall of fame and in 2008 he has been honored by the bronx museum of arts. afrika bambaataa’s long career is pointed by many hits and masterpieces such as reckless, unity, just get up and dance and pupunanny. countless collaborations with artists such as ub40, james brown, boy george, leftfield just to name few of them. afrika bambaataa has recorded with many labels from tommy boy to capitol records and profile but it is with the italian label dfc (expanded music) that he has releases most of his recordings. bring it up is the new release on dfc label produced by dj/producer paul carpenter. this release includes three versions in big room/edm style along with a mega-mix and a full acapella collection of all previous recordings released by bambaataa on dfc label. two lyrics videos come to support the release.
