1st release in alden tyrell s latest project: vorm variaties, a 5 release series consisting of tracks recorded in the last 2 years. the vorm variaties- tracks were a style excercise for tyrell, flexing his producermuscle while health issues forced him to stop touring. initially he had no intention to release these tracks but we found them so good that we were almost forced to start this series. all tracks selected are variations on classic techno forms, using classic style ingredients and the 909. all 5 variaties are different in style, yet all homogenous, all with alden tyrell s sound signature... on point production skills and stripped down arrangements.

ensos 4th installment is a 3-tracker which bears the distinct signature of intrepid soul: electro, acid, hypnotic modulated synths. side a comprises 2 tracks: e.c. nature and rikimbili. the first track features a driving bassline and a hypnotic electro-ish synth theme. rikimbli is more playful, with glitchy percussions and an acid-esque synth theme. its like the marching theme of an army of robots. side b features idiogenic, which shows a more deep and melodic side of the artist. all 3 tracks are fine examples of intrepid soul’s exquisite analogue production and we believe they fit perfectly with what enso is all about.

after some breakdown, untidy is back with his fifth reference. summer emotive psycho house from barcelona. vinyl only!

fouk are finally back on heist after their great ‘kill frenzy’ ep in 2014 and have taken mount liberation unlimited along for a remix. we’ve been waiting patiently for new material, challenging the guys to take the signature ‘fouk’ sound to the next level. fouk’s brilliance has been obvious on recent work for their own label outplay and razor ‘n tape, as well as their respective solo projects. we’ve kept a close connection, teaming up whenever possible for heist showcases, with highlights in amsterdam’s “claire” and paris’ “concrete-. seeing their work and enthusiasm made it abundantly clear that it would only be a matter of time before they’d show us what the next step would look -or better yet- sound like. anticipation ran high but boy, do fouk deliver. the excellent ‘with lasers’ ep still very much portrays their own style of loose, live percussion and many layers of funk, but they’ve expanded their vision and even toughened up a bit. their new taste for grit and an interest in the heavier side of funk is probably most evident on the opener ‘f3000&#8242,,,,,, where a thunderous arpeggio is supported by distorted drums and lush cosmic synth stabs. title track ‘with lasers’ is more of a classic fouk track, combining a lovely walking disco bassline and their signature drum programming with… erm… lasers. lots of them. the b side ‘see you on the other side’ sets a different pace, carefully blending guitar licks, rhodesy chords and vocal chops into a lovely groove that feels just as carefree and improvised as it feels exciting. swedish synth nerds “mount liberation unlimited” ran with it and transformed it into a dreamy -pepe bradock goes balearic- track where airy echoed guitars take turns with some equally dreamy and evocative pads.

miss jools finally steps inside with her deep and groovy signature sound with her first ep on sol asylum with a remix from dana ruh. we instantly fell in love with “stepping inside,- this beautifully crafted atmospheric groover is destined to be a timeless gem. followed by dana ruh’s swingy reinterpretation that is finely crafted for the dance floor while still keeping it’s original sophistication. we are definitely not sorry to have this spaced out deep roller with a nice melodic surprise in the middle titled “sorry not sorry.” then wrapping this package beautifully together is “444 marjorie” a more classical approach to deep house but always with a modern twist with a dedication to someone very special to jools.

driving minimal techno works!

(180 g vinyl) there is something wonderfully uplifting and naive about the mittle european b-movie pop and library music of the 1970s. an imperfect perfection of sound palette and melody, creating & encapsulating a whole world of hypnotic intrigue.this feeling is what comes to mind when listening to the debut album of californian scott gilmore, which is reminiscent (in more modern times) of the pre moon safari air.
