all tracks reared in captivity and released into the wild by matt rivem at a secret location in the east midlands. from the woods of the east midlands - the goshawk arises with three slices of organically crafted - deep, underground house music. it was the epitome of a perfect match for us at kolour ltd and were pleased to finally let this bird loose.

having established deepsystems as a radio show some years back, matt pond (one third of the bittersuite collective) has decided to launch a record label under the same name. given his contacts, it s a smart move. two close pals - bittersuite member jon gray and dan 1dan rodgers - join forces as tales ov rossi, laying down a slowly shifting chunk of deep, heads-down house that stretches across one side of the 12-. on the flip, gray goes solo under the bittersuite banner, delivering the two-part -familiar currents-. both versions sound heavily inspired by the dense percussion, expansive musicality and rich soundscapes of ron trent.

one of las smartest young voices says the la times…which the artist suspects, may just be a covert way of saying la is dumb. “open” mike eagle wouldnt terribly mind, being born and raised in chicago where the painful winters and his uppity grandparents kept him inside as a youth. he spent his formative years watching alternative music happen on mtv and hoping to one day be able to audition for the native tongues. as a young adult after graduating with a degree in psychology, he did the next best thing and moved to los angeles, joining the project blowed collective where he made music and toured with busdriver, aceyalone, abstract, nocando, and more. he has also gained notoriety in the world of comedy by being invited by professional funny people (paul f. tompkins, hannibal buress, matt besser/ucb) to rap at their shows. he would like to be raps kurt vonnegut but recognizes that he would first have to create something as iconic as the four-stroke illustration of an anus. he practices by releasing rap albums that delight, entertain, and confuse.
