with their cinematic music and john carpenters cover albums, we wondered when a real soundtrack by zombie zombie is going to be out? well, here it is now , the two zombies cosmic neman and etienne jaumet finally sign their first film music for the first feature film from director , narimane mari, loubia hamra (bloody beans), to be released in spring 2014. and we found them there, where we do not expect, because it s not a horror movie, but a free movie, a journey of a group of children from a district of algiers during the war of algeria, who becomes aware of life and death.director narimane mari talks about her experience with zombie zombie and creation of the soundtrack for her movie:-i really wanted the music to be as blood flow of images and that is what it is. sharp, dull, full of strange noises, inner or surging, harmonious or disturbed by noise disorder, which allows to read beyond the visual narrative. we are in the bowels of childhood and it shakes us up when we let our-selves be takeover by the living: the profusion. i didn’t want to make a movie where psychology and reason rule and dominate until our senses are weakened, but a movie that we experience with the body and it is them who made it possible, this total immersion.

second reference of the spanish label sinerec. this time the hand of german quantec, momentarily abandons those atmospheres characteristics and leads to a more usual forceful style. a very clean and not too much saturation in style chords. spaces warm and very danceable. music definitely cheerful and very valid. with the chemist makes a turn to the more techno sounds where the baseline takes an important character in the composition of the track. depth flotation and lets get wasted, down a bit of character and are ideal companions in the suitcase of a dj for their musicality and cadence that will make sure, wonders on the dance floor.

ole utters *odsbodkins!* while martin styles his hair. the two decided to work on their next monaberry releases five years ago and the result is monaberry 23. 23? this can only be a good sign, dont you think? *odsbdodkins* confirms its name without wasting a second and going directly for your finest dancemoves. a groovey guitar firework is ignited which illuminates the dark temple of dance. no other but the boys from hanne & lore have taken on the hard task to deliver a remix of the title track. they do not disappoint with their rework which makes you lose it on the dancefloor. *frdy* and *indimushy* come as desert. these two tracks get into your head fast and refuse to leave it ... *frdy* is the perfect dancefloortool, which leaves not a single wish unsatisfied, while *indimishy* keeps the whole ep together, not allowing for any sound to drift away.

keeping in line with the trademark birdsmakingmachine sound, comes the fifth release on their self-entitled label, bmm 004. with a more straight-to-the-point approach than its predecessor, the ep starts off on the dance floor, with rumbling bass lines and heavy metallic snares juggling with effects-laden delicacies on the a1s >ahora vengo<. the arrival of >ash but not arthur< on the a2 calms things down bit and takes the listener for a gentle journey through ambient pads and cleverly swinging hi hats, while on the flip, things get a little more bouncy in >oscars critical jack<, which is mostly due to the fact its main ingredient – the solid playful bass line – blends effortlessly with the higher frequency spices, keys, strings and rhythmic parts. the end credits roll down with >bonfume<, another relatively smooth yet jacking swinger that could either be used to kick it up a notch in a warm-up set or be danced to while finding yourself at an afterhour.

after a few years of demand for kons rework of spirit of the party (gimmie the night) its finally here, with two other cuts giving us a triple threat 12inch. love x kon the tune is stripped down to the bone, with quite an epic acapella ending. on star of a story kon hones in on the groove and stretches it out a bit. completely fresh takes on 3 classic tunes, exposing and breaking down instrumentation not heard before.

mystical and proper techno! -marbacka- is a song originally written and composed by marbacka for one of their side projects, -the marbacka side project-. it was later made famous by another recording artist, who covered the song and released it as the second single from hen second studio album. however, not until this artist recorded and produced the version along with $ it become a worldwide hit. a music video, which has been described as iconic, was shot and received heavy rotation. its feelings explore an abandoned lover s point of view. on this special edition -marbacka- is surrounded by previously unreleased material and reworks.

after releases on john osbourne’s label tanstaafl bill youngman once again rips it off for killekill with our catalog number 019.from straight forward, hard hitting techno as in levitate he crosses over to the typical youngman style 2-step/techno hybrid as in magnetic. broken beats and playful me- oldies as in teardrop turns to solid are definitely not new to him, but the combi-nation of these two elements, as we find it here, definitely is. a beautiful masterpiece that works for the lonely hours as well as for the peaktime dancefloors.

among a thousand projects, para one is back on the dance floor with club, a new album which was not meant to be one, but believe it or not: its serious stuff! *the passion album is the background for this, as i decided to reshape it for my live act*, explains para one.

dcs maxmillion dunbar drops in on hot haus recs with a low slung 90s house jam backed with a remix from brookylns willie burns. not content with dropping one of 2013s most nacclaimed albums: house of woo, max d started 2014 with releases on trilogy tapes, a split with 4 heros dego on berceuse heroique, an ep on l.i.e.s and now brings the heat to hot haus recs in effekt. willie burns, a regular creme organisation, ttt & l.i.e.s affilate.. no stranger to the world of uttu drops a sleazy sci fi rework, a 7am drizzly affair that is either going to work or heading home ... we cant decide.

when two talented international producers such as tato and andrew grant get together and join forces, not even superstition that could surround the ominous 13th mallorcan tato - head of the label isgud - and yankee andrew grant are two of the main players for the ibizan club dc-10 and the well known italian party circoloco. oblack - the label from los pastores - united them on this ep and the result is.. carry on reading. the point is that with rewayna, tato, and with the collaboration of the tech master andrew grant, he gives a new twist to this underground house without concesions that characterize his sound.

out of the ordinary is a celebration of strangeness. not the outer-worldly strange inventions of our minds, but the kind of strangeness we come across in our every day lives, hidden in the little details.
