we’re really excited about this unusual ep from the unusually talented photomachine, his first outing on wicked bass. ‘black motorcycle’ a dark but deep number, measuredly working its way down into to a solid groove before it lifts its eyes skyward for a breakdown made up of delicate synthwork. ‘good news…bad dope’ is a more skittish cut, with its percussive elements laying low in the mix, whilst circling synths provide a menacing mood that juxtaposes itself with a well-placed vocal sample.

blackest ever black presents the first vinyl edition of dickon hinchliffes original score for 1980 - the second part of channel 4 and revolution films red riding trilogy, adapted by tony grisoni from david peaces quartet of novels and first screened in 2009.

the next slab of soulful house music on foliage records comes from justin stride aka black sonix, featuring the wonderful voice of selina campbell. remixes are delivered by groove assassins and kquesol plus an alternative vocal mix by justin and sean mccabe.

cassegrain & tin man are a deadly combination. old school acid lines programmed by one of the greatest masters in this field meet a super modern techno sound design by cassegrain, who have made themselves a name in the last years for producing some of the finest in dark and experimental techno. for the follow up to their debut release on killekill they have put together three tracks that are outstand- ing. high & low is a slowly swelling minimalistic acid epos of over 10 minutes length which proves the mas- tership of tin man in programming acid loops of eternal quality. 8 beats length only, but constantly evolving. no chance for boredom. the b-side starts with sex kit, a dark acid stomper with a chirping percussion which is well suitable for the peaktime dancefloor, followed by sand maze, a sublte minimalistic ambient acid piece, that winds its way into total dissolution. we are quite sure that this is the way acid should sound in 2013.
