finally, the live virtuoso olene kadar is back again with release #4 on his homebase mos ferry! not only the really massive kick makes the a-side >deal< a true stomper, that might put a smile on every detroit fans face also a guy called gerald would be thrilled! kadar uses common sounds and styles to stack his own unconventional sound-building - his own >house<. driving is probably the adjective that can express most accurately what constitutes the eight and a half minutes track with its funky organ chords. the b-side >sot:2< contains an equally virtuoso ass-shaker. somewhere between industrial aesthetics of the reverberated snare and the indefinable squawking sound its elements combine into a multi-dimensional piece of >club therapy< full of extremes. the unity of groovy kick and bass constitutes a high contrast to the vast extending percussion that moves at times in dramatic and absurd dimensions. approaching the drop, the almost out of control snare rolls and percussion drown any crowd in their own sweat dripping from the ceiling.

in classical geometry, the triangle is the simplest polygon. the one which can be used to construct all other polygons. the root of them all. three points define a plane in space. thus resulting in the phenomenon that a tripod always has a safe and solid stand. three musicians teamed up to produce the triangle peul. in addition to the well known mr raoul k rollercoaster ride through moods from contemplation to euphoria, producing as part of a team adds a new dimension of dialog to his work. itÆs no longer just the communication between him and the audience, this time the communication that happened during the production process shines through. the fun, the deep concentration and the energy that everyone felt and committed is recognisable for the audience with ease. unsurprisingly, the triangle peul comes in three different mixes including a drum laden beatstramental for those who still like to mix.

starting off with the perfect combination between house and techno: >the yellow screen< twists and turns. make sure to listen all 6 minutes of it because the end is not as you would expect. a splendid remix from kaiserdisco brings a more minimal feel to the track but keep enough of the splendid original version to remain groovy.
the flipside track >sweet violence< has many great sounds, striking bass-lines and gives you that vintage warehouse-techno feeling.

the environmental radiation dose on the moon ep is the first collaboration between zooloft and aconito records. the two labels are twinned in exploring the limits of techno, experimenting with structures and sequences and ultimately arriving at the place where the deep and dark sublimes. the ep opens with the child that was watching the moon a track lifted right out of the drone-techno hymnal. it starts with muddied, subterranean bass and builds not just outwards but inwards. filled with obtuse references and metallic rasps the atmosphere created is obscure and spectral. on the reverse the moon that was watching the child sounds like its been exposed to radiation. the sounds are distorted, as if created from samples of the genome unzipping. the arrangement is stunning, bells filter in and out and the layers smelt into one another. there is awe at work here, but its an awe that remains underpinned by terror. this release, mastered in berlin at the legendary calyx studio, is something of a record collectors dream. it will be released on solid silver vinyl in a very limited edition of just 200 copies. za000ltd should be enjoyed on wax, this wont be available digitally.

massimiliano pagliara is a producer who has quickly gained a reputation as a musician who can join the gaps between house, electronica and disco. his productions have already found their way onto respected labels such as eskimo, live at robert johnson, rush hour and now needwant. the original is an electronic disco work out featuring the talents of vocalist alessandro tartari. it harks back to the early italo analogue electronic era with a modern twist. on the instrumental it’s the machines do the talking with a scattering of guitar licks for seven minute electronic groover. originally from italy but now firmly based in berlin you can hear the influences of venues such as robert johnson or ostgut that massimiliano is a regular guest dj. the remix comes from celebrated low slung house hero mark e.

levante is the name of a warm wind, blowing between northern africa and spain during the summer months, a warm wind that especially surfers, but also other kinds of deeply relaxed summer people appreciate a lot. as some surfers and other people require some of this feeling already before next summer, schallbox records associated with monoroom has caught some of this wind and transformed it into levante una, which is basses, waves and beats that will blow some tube-heated pre-summer frenzy through the speakers and on the dancefloors. for an even longer surfing experience and a continued boomy feeling in your knackers (hmm sorry ladies?), martin eyerer, mike wall and steve cole have got their speedoes out and dived into 45°(celsius) warm drums and samples, in order to offer to you their personal renderings of levante una. wasn t there a track once, warm surferette??

after the well received debut ep on his own grey area ltd, tobia coffa is back with a 4 tracker focused on deepness and melody, ranging from shining summer vibes on the a-side to emotionally struggling melodies on the b-side. >dancing on the keyboard< combines a funky melody and a rolling groove on a big bassline, perfect for summer sets. >chords n brass<, as the name implies, develop its groove around those two main elements, filled with tight drums, making it a good choice for many context. >the strange family< is the moodier and more introspective track, with a dark bassline and a deep pressure. >margherita< is the most emotional track, filled with love and hope, characterised by blazing melodies which will leave the listener torn between smile and tears

>angles< stretches guitar strings like taffy through a forest of finger snaps and slow-motion electro shudder, with a cycling chorus teasing out medieval melodies. >materials< is quicker of spirit, with a rippling pulse played out on muted jazz drums, shuttling between blocked piano chords and silvery oscillators and weaving an irresistible groove. its beautiful, unexpected and absorbing music-and theres nothing else out there that sounds like it.

and we are back for ep three. its a get together between master rick and young kyle. and its time to turn things up a notch. kyle hits it unbelievably hard with >after fall<. have you ever tried head banging to disco music? if not, now is the time, because this track will make you do just that. there is no denying. banger! on the b-side the godson eases down a little and lifts the classic >love & happiness< a capella to work it into a hypnotic groove. build it up! the third track sees kyle and rick teaming up, where kyle provides the drums and rick delivers the groove. a futuristic piece of jazz techno, 22nd century shit, that plays with your mind and demands you to move.

here comes edwards follow-up ep. this time he goes a slightly deeper and more direct. it might be the purest music we ve ever heard from the berlin-based producer. all the crazy clubgigs are manifested into hi music now. of course still with the classical edward style somewhere between dark minimal and trancy deephouse aesthetics. >bush of crows< is somewhat of a siginature edward track. but a very rough one this time. with a comfortable paranoia, this track unfolds itself into a little peak time extravaganza. on the flip, he cools everything down with a warm house tune called >the ghetto< and he adds a certain >blockparty romantic< to it... b2. is once again one of those more minimal edward tracks were he masters to be on point with just the core essence o sounds. edward remains a real romantic for sure...
