paul ritch and giorgio gigli team up for the first time for the 31st release in the planet rhythm black series. they deliver three powerful, deep and, acidic tracks.

right after the twcor debut for the digital branch of planet rhythm, the mysterious twcor is back with a monstrous package of top notch dancefloor techno. grey matter ep revolves around deep low ends and exciting fx cuts. the 4 tracks included in this package are a fine combination of sturdy techno sounds that should turn some heads among lovers of the genre. pressing on clear and black mixed vinyl.

recorded between 1996 and 2010, the four tracks oscillate between raw acid, classic basement house and artful distortion. bouncing and scrappy stuff at the same time.

rotterdam based duo arkvs release “oppression” ep through the prruk black series. the result is an exciting package of futuristic techno sounds and searing drums. the duo has managed to find a perfectly executed trip throughout the different sides of arkvs. while the general tone is darkish throughout, there are some uplifting atmospheres and hints of hope to be found in this package. while the title track is a thumping piece of dancefloor techno, the cinematic voyage “our deepest fear” is a stand-out production of adventurous electronics. on the b-side we find “chose to defy”, which is a tough work of dark techno and the somewhat more mellow “nonviolence” on which an intrusive bassline is combined with some beautiful synth sounds.

heterotic are a group formed from husband and wife production team mike paradinas and lara rix-martin. mike is the boss and founder of planet mu, and a celebrated producer in his own right as µ-ziq.
their debut release is a composite of four striking instrumental tracks and four unique collaborations with gravenhurst, the musical pen-name of nick talbot who is known for his dark, folk tinged singer songwriting for warp records. they were brought together by a mutual friend who sensed potential in the pairing.

gemmy hails from the hugely influential bristol bass scene. part of the purple trinity along with joker and guido, he already had a big release on the bristol-based punch drunk label and plays by the likes of pinch, joker and mary anne hobbs (radio 1) gemmys debut for planet mu is a bass heavy ride. with p-funk and grime influences, gemmy blends the dub and the step with fat portamento synth lines and computer game fx to great effect ensuring maximum dancefloor impact. supligen is a bass funk attack to the senses giving you a taste of what to expect from gemmys debut album (planet mu ziq230 due august 2009). bristolian synths and shuffle beats are sure to get the wonky heads bouncing. bt tower is another anthemic jump up wobbler with a full-on bass drop that will punish the limiters on any decent rig. watch your bass bins!
