yogg is part of the parallax label crew and hails from tel-aviv. his techno turns your mind inside out with its long and hypotonic grooves. then comes distant echoes, another techno innovator who has landed on rodhads dystopian and the out-er label with this dark, bleak sounds.

la based independent experimental techno label halocyan is back with part 2 of the third man s incredible procession e.p. ‘parallax opens up proceedings drawing you in with its phased paranoid techno soundscapes. on the flip side the deep is exactly that, an immersive layering of synth textures and detuned organs. to close out the e.p. nightflight takes you on a nocturnal tip combing swelling pads, dreamy arps and melancholic detroit flavoured synth lines to great effect. 180g cyan blue 12- vinyl with laser-etched tracklist in double sleeves and a deluxe pvc wallet with flap. the outer sleeve is embossed with die cut over-sized centres, 2 spot uv stickers and a cyan metallic foil stamp.

psychick visions from a dystopic parallax, closely mapped and cognate to the occupied plane we recognise but littered with nuanced distortions, twisting certainty just past the assured facade of familiar... for its inaugural release mirror zone unveils a repressing of an overlooked ep from uk artist memphis way back when in 1994. we re delivered complex, mystic rhythms nodding to the likes of pwog, paradise 3001 and sabres of paradise, the unique breakbeat-tweaked, tribal-trance epitiomising early 90s output from labels like kk, go bang!, dream and esp records.

the long awaited ep by will buck & prtmnto finally sees the light. soul sides ep showcases their search for a perfect loop with three originals and a super smooth remix courtesy of parallax, a new collaboration of c.scott. each original was mixed by lovedancing s own, pontchartrain.

following on from co-ops vol. 1 (counter004), counterchange continues the various artist series with an 8 track, double vinyl edition for its tenth release. joining the dots between a network of producers all pushing boundaries in their respective fields, label curator inland (aka ed davenport) invited boddika (nonplus), cassegrain & tin man (killekill, infrastructure new york), distant echoes (dystopian), pharaoh & yogg (the block tel aviv residents, parallax), patrik skoog (sample & hold, headroom) and bnjmn (tresor, tiercel) to all submit new music.
the result is a heavyweight, diverse trip through modern techno, presented in a hand printed sleeve featuring artwork by carina wittmann, limited to 200 copies.

here you have, the snippets of our third release. this time vco join us with one track. we want to say, as many paths in life, music is a way to express ourselves. therefore, this time we want dedicate this vinyl with all our love, to charliemoon.

milan based collective just this return with two va releases to continue their broken promises series. with the aim of documenting the progression of cultural movements, the label have pursued underground material since 2010. broken promises part 3 and part 4 are due for release on 1st december and 8th december respectively, and each feature four new tracks channelling refined techno with minimalist, ambient sentiments. hunter/game open part 3 with distance, a meditative journey through ambient textures using expansive synths and vast acoustics. next, architectural brandishes 808 drums for a tense workout on electric soul. on the b-side, label co-owner pisetzky explores the darker side of minimal on anterial, whilst altman plays with moody bass and ricocheting percussion on shapes. part 4 opens with a shuffling rhythmic framework on inlands aechmea, followed by zona, a pointillist groove by ben gibson, aka one half of the collaborative project dyad. on my flowers kundal, a cyclical melody wanders through eerie acoustics whilst hiver navigates a broken beat framework with glitchy distortions and dub echoes on stellar parallax landing

the second ep of samuel rohrer’s range of regularity album presents two more striking reinterprations. these new remixes provide an intriguing parallax view of the original tracks, using the percussive eclecticism of the parent lp as a starting point from which to journey into sonically vibrant, feature-rich territories. the production specialists on hand for this project include burnt friedman and ricardo villalobos. villalobos, has already formed a strong working relationship with rohrer’s ambiq trio, lends his talents to both of the eps. (ror remixes i - amel-ep716). nonplace label boss friedman, as well, has carved out a unique space for himself within the electronic world, logging several decades’ worth of releases that with dub-wise production sensibility, skewed humor, and riots of tone color. though each individual remix has its own character, they are all united in their ability to provide a quick cure for fatigue with the common “loop”: though not improvised, they are strung together from fleeting phrases that evolve as if they are taking on a life independent of their creators. burnt friedman’s own dramatic interpretation of “microcosmoism” pairs up his consciousness of deep bass and analog inventiveness with rohrer’s continually transforming sound objects, making for a flowing and wordless narrative that simply dares listeners to stop paying attention. feeling more like a collaboration in “real time” than a remix proper, friedman brings his characteristic ‘mad scientist’ wit to the proceedings and delivers an energetic piece that simply glows in the dark. this is complemented nicely by villalobos’ remix of “microcosmoism”. it carries the energy level of the 1st ep over to a new disk, while heavily experimenting with feelings of emotional ambiguity. at some points aggressive and at other points merely curious, this mischievous collage of attitudes feels as inspired by the questing jazz of sun ra as it is by continental techno. contemplative keyboard runs, enthusiastic spring-like percussion and malfunctioning machine chatter all coalesce to make this a most fascinating piece of multi-purpose electronic music.

…speaking of air and darkness, “born on a gangster star” came into the world in a big damn hurry, like nightfall on an island. you can see it happening, but then again it’s so gradual that the next thing you know - it’s dark.
imbued with the energy and ideas from all the creative embers floating in the atmosphere like fireflies, shabazz palaces recorded this entire album over the course of two weeks with blood in seattle. new gear and new equipment disintegrated comfort zones into dust and a new path appeared in the rubble.
herein the palaceer continues the tale of quazars, a sentient being from somewhere else, an observer sent here to amurderca to chronicle and explore as a musical emissary. what he finds in our world is a cutthroat place, a landscape where someone like him could never quite feel comfortable amidst all the brutality and alternative facts and death masquerading as connectivity.

a project that came to life fuelled by collectors obsession and a lifelong willingness to dive head- first into unknown musical wormholes, miles whittaker and sean canty have never been defined by a singular musical trajectory. their opening salvo of releases dabbled with the aesthetic of the occult and provided an alternate, parallax view of the italian library records with which they were both obsessed at the time, but as their long running mixtape series and brilliantly curated dds label attest, their interests extend far outside the crevices of early electronic music and into dance music, dancehall, roots, jungle, techno, industrial, noise and beyond. while 2013s testpressing series provided an outlet for mostly club-based productions shot from the hip, wonderland has been constructed with a narrative in mind.from the clipped hardstyle of the opening curzon, through the jaunty dancehall mutations of animal style and fulledge, exotica/house refractions on hardnoise, the frankly ridiculous, bassbin destroying jungle ructions on sourcer, or the extended tease of overstaying, its probably the most enjoyable and loose-limbed hour of music in their catalogue, or that youll likely hear in these weird, angst-ridden times.

the return of the hagues black magician! it has been 13 years since the parallax corporation / conservatives projects together with i-f and now intergalactic gary is back. i-g hooked up with a new musical partner, the lovely and talented pasiphae from greece and together they deliver four very well-crafted tracks of contemporary machine-driven techno romance, with the ecstatic title track made of glass being the floor burner that will unite dancefloors worldwide. with the made of glass ep bio rhythm proudly presents the absolute creme de la creme of the current dutch west coast noir scene.

the argentinian based ngly had seemingly appeared out of thin air landing on the brooklyn based l.i.e.s. label in 2014 with an untitled four track white label ep. on this ep, the unsuspecting track -speechless tape- ended up becoming a cult hit with select djs in the scene (i-f, mick wills, intergalactic gary...) eventually leading to it being voted as intergalactic fm s #1 track of the year in 2014. on the heels of his successful debut rudolfo could have stayed the path and produced an easily digestable follow up dance record or two, instead he chose to take his time and reflect. sitting back in the studio tweaking his live act, recording endlessly, transforming and refining his sound.

fancy humans leigh morgan has been knocking around a while, running urban torque recordings for the best part of a decade throughout the naughties. having reached a satisfactory level of noodle shinnery on his baldy bonce, he has put down the scalp polish and finally started making music. project pickle is his second solo ep. project pickle includes three original tracks, nailing his colours to the mast, dilly of a pickle begins with a clear indication of pickle preference, pie on the sly the accompanying dish, and almost champion a nod to the ultimate disappointment in food related release punnery. we asked chocky to come on board for remix duties, once he d told us which was his favourite pickle, his answer we ll take to our graves. chocky has been winning plaudits for his deep dubby jazzy grooves through artful division, nature soul music, roots for bloom and audio parallax etc, and here he s on great form with, er, a deep dubby jazzy re-imaging, lovely stuff.

„obsidian“ lässt raum für melodie zwischen den kicks und snares und öffnet sich dem hörer in einem traumähnlichen gefilde. damage verzichtet dabei eher auf rohe beats, tracks wie „cosmonaut“, „parallax view“ und „transmission“ liefern aber mit sicherer schlagkraft einen adrenalinschub. es sind jedoch die sphärischen titel wie „pulse width“ und „poly“, das acid-angehauchte „tetrapod“ und das großartige „shimmer“, mit denen sich der künstler tiefer in das unbekannte wagt. man fühlt sich an die genialität von afx, skam und autechre erinnert. „obsidian“ zeichnet sich durch ein zusammenspiel von wärme, herz, seele und viel viel schweiß aus und zeichnet somit ein perfektes bild und ein grandioses finale für das label. benjamin damage selbst beschreibt das album als: -collection of fragmented memories from all the music i’ve ever liked, distorted and restructured into a full length techno record. a purely personal project and an end of an era with 50weapons.” man vergisst schnell, dass benjamin damage erst seit 2010 platten veröffentlicht. nur zwei jahre, nachdem sein erster track released wurde, erschien sein hochgelobtes debüt-album „they!live“ zusammen mit doc daneeka. damages erste solo-album folgte im folgenden jahr und zeigte eine entwicklung hin zum von plaid und jeff mills geprägten sonic sci-fi. kritiker lobten die wärme und rückkehr des souls in die von kälte geprägte welt des berlin-techno.

a fantastic vinyl version of craig richards outstanding get lost mixed album, featuring some gems from craigs record bag. each cut is a killer, from the classic deep house by black rascals and backroom productions, the stupendous humphries dub of 2 house and superb dutch house monster this side u. also featured are tougher cuts by kenny larkin, stl and steve bug as well, alexander robotnicks great remix of trans mania, ruf dugs ode to ron hardy, patrice scotts sublime remix of raiders of the lost arp, parallax corporations disco tined ‘anti social tendencies and craigs own ‘sleeping rough production from his own great imprint: the nothing special. a great compilation of some superb records!

the constant state label launches in style with a record from ian blevins & phil moodys al gobi outfit, who had something of a breakthrough 2013 with releases for disco bloodbath, rothmans, culprit la and audio parallax. while the original mix of a cup of tea is dark and unsettled - beautifully balanced bass notes and piano cutting through heavy, storm-pregnant air, cottams accompanying remix is the distillation of a second wind. his tribal, twisted, acidic treatment of this 3am concrete bunker anthem never overwhelms the piano refrain, instead giving it a new life, like the ghost of a party suddenly bequeathed fresh purpose as tired legs find boundless energy.

we who like to think of ourselves as disruptors felt that the time has come for a shift. a new path for chronicle emerges, carved out with a new series of 7 inch records limited to only 250 copies. our inaugural release, entitled words for silence, will be unleashed at our debut chronicle showcase on march 29th at berghain. as our way of giving thanks to our supporters the first 10 copies will be passed out in secrecy to attendants looming in the shaded corners of the club. words for silence features two driving tracks from aiken and the illusive ben gibson – two producers that have both crafted powerful eps for us and will be gracing the decks that evening along with nick dunton (65 d mavericks), boris, oliver deutschmann and mike dehnert among others. we could not be more honored to host this night, and look forward to unveiling more releases of this caliber for other special events/turning points. so watch out below… aikens *singularity* has a groove that beeps like a time bomb waiting to explode, washing over you with its sinful drones - while gibsons track *parallax* takes things a bit deeper with pastoral pads and fluttering hi-hats. together they create a balance of rhythm and energy that will be well suited for a number of unique moments while in the chamber.

is it his love for details that made him known as the micronaut? at least the atmosphere of his productions evolves from a multitude of intricate elements. these little bits and pieces might be of very different nature but together they complement each other in perfect harmony, creating the big picture, the panorama of a soundscape that is one of a kind.

the savannah ep concludes mr. beatnick s synthetes trilogy, a series which has signalled the london producer s migration from hip-hop into well-schooled deep house. the first two installments, at their best, married adeptly selected samples with stylish synth work in a manner reminiscent of moodymann or andrés, but not excessively beholden to detroit house.

the producer behind these mind-blowing slabs of heavyweight disco-funk perfection was one jp source, an exile from the geordie ibiza (that will be blackpool) and geordie mecca (erm, newcastle) now living out in the sticks in the states, far from home. the eps title, >get your bearings<, is reference to his struggles to come to terms with his new surroundings.
three tracks, all tried and tested, all disco dynamite. since he sent us these killer edits, jp source has begun to pick up interest elsewhere. he recently released an excellent ep of original material on audio parallax and has material forthcoming on edit, zzr and art star records. we reckon he has got a big future. all the more reason to >get your bearings< and dive into his bedmo disco debut…
