people must jam s ninth record is from one of our favourite djs and producers. a guy who has a ridiculously large back catalogue and in our opinion it is a crime that some of his records haven t received bigger recognition. a true master of house and hip hop music, kid sublime has been putting out amazing records since 2001. his own label dopeness galore literally does exactly what it says on the tin. even before we launched people must jam s label we wanted kid sublime to be a part of it. now finally we are stoked to present this ep... four serious cuts for four different vibed floors - look out! first up kid s homage to techno legend ben sims with bang like sims a driving deep techno groove. strong percussion, deep stabs and that unrelenting beat are going to ensure this one gets some love on the harder edged, heavier dance floors. we the people heads a little down the tribal route with some afro inspired percussion, haunting samples and that kalimba! dropping a really infectious riff before beautiful piano melodies drift in and out of the mix. wonderful stuff. the title track i like em dirty , we feel, is a lesson in proper deep house. classic sounding house beats, little guitar licks, deep stabs and the vocal sample combine for this perfect house cut. massive. the ep is rounded out with another cut in tribute to the legend that was kenny hawkes. another master of his craft - kenny sadly now passed on but his spirit is well and truly alive in this fitting tribute. one 4 kenny features strong percussion, low bass, deep stabs and slamming beats = cracking stuff

zipper is zemi17s second release on the bunker new york, and sees him expanding his musical palette considerably, in which his gamelan derived sound design pushes further out towards the expanses of techno s realm. zipper is the product of years of work. the tracks on this record began as field recordings taken from indonesia insect sounds, gamelan, found sounds, says kuffner. each of these tracks comes from a different stage of my music-writing process over the years. i eventually developed a kind of sketch and improv technique, re-arranging groupings and arrangements of a series of elements. zipper reflects a culmination of this technique, and in my opinion, its representative of some of my best work

debut ep of cream soda duo incl. remixes from volta cab (ua), sasha khizhnyakov (ru), kings of the universe (se), dirty culture (ro)! cream soda - one of the most promising house projects in cis. after only a year of producing house music, the duo s tracks have ended up in dj sets by xxxy, jimmy edgar, bondax, and dj caspa, the pair have featured on international blogs like onlyvibez and in glossy magazines like fhm. tracks from cream soda are spinning in spots on fashion tv and since the end of 2013 have been taken in rotation on megapolis fm. since january 2014 guys started their own radio show on megapolis fm (89.5 fm) and personal no me podcast. band already predicting a great future, comparing it with disclosure, and bondax, and, in our opinion, cream soda - it is a sincere festive house music with right groove of the 90s, which would be appropriate in almost any good club.

these tracks are fairly special in our opinion and we are very honoured to be releasing them as the first optimo music disco plate.noo are daze dasen (aka plastique de reve) and sami liuski (aka bangkok impact / putsch 79). this is a double a side 12inch single (plus a digital bonus track that we couldnt fit on the 12inch and still have maximum pressing volume). built out of imaginative sampling combined with analogue hardware, these tracks are phenomenally produced, lush disco string fuelled epics that fully work their magic in a club setting. this is modern disco, most definitely not nu disco.

when it comes to remixing such a stone-cold classic opinion is always going to be divided. love it or hate it, what is absolutely certain is that betoko has been one of the rising stars of electronic music over the last couple of years with a prolific output of original tracks, edits and remixes....
i had dinner with breach in london and he told me: hey, i have a track that is really dirtybird. i would put it out but its really sounding right for you guys. i took this with a grain of salt but then i heard lets get hot and i found out he was right. it has got the swagger and the sound. it makes girls grind their asses into boys crotches on the dancefloor. perfect. signed. so i then asked him to make something even more sexual, thinking it would be ages before i got something back. 10 days later the a-side came back to me as a 2 minute clip while i was on the train to warehouse project in manchester. i liked it so much that i edited it on the train to stretch it out to 5 minute. as expected, it slayed the room and the final version breach has delivered is one of the best records of the year in my opinion. with the simple title of jack you can see for yourself when you play it. this is the real deal. love, vonstroke

last year kyodai dropped breaking, which to date is the biggest selling release on local talk. now the brothers are back with in our opinion a future house anthem. the scene is a classic piano house cut that’s impossible to resist and together with one the coolest vocal samples we’ve ever heard we think this has the potential to go really big. when the breakdown drops we’re pretty sure everybody in the club will chant. but as if this was not enough we also got another big tune on the b-side. moving is the continuation of “breaking” and goes along the same lines with its crossover jazz styled house. once again kyodai delivers a supa solid house production with large jazz breakdowns and old school vocals that’s right up their with ”breaking”. this is also why we called it…breaking pt.2. kyodai is currently working on their debut album for local talk which is due later this year. they’re also travelling around the world with their amazing live dj set that we highly recommend. trust us when we say that these two brothers really now how to turn up the heat in a club…serious biz!

downtown party network from lithuania have been behind some serious releases and remixes over the last few years. combining disco influences with a knack for crafting weighty and warm deep house of the highest order… for their iib debut they have produced a duo of dreamy, melodic and irresistable vocal house gems which stand tall in their own right. as ever, the iib team have drafted in some seriously heavyweight remixers. veteran uk producer richard norris aka the time & space machine has delivered a truly superb rework of >the returning<. bringing the live elements of the track to the fore and unleashing a dazzling eyes closed on the dancefloor moment, and a bit of a classic in our humble opinion! finally scandanavian disco legend prins thomas takes on the same track and transforms it into an epic, spacious mix, underpinned by a widescreen acid bass and relentless, building groove.

we are very pleased to welcome bleak on deeply rooted house for his second release on the label, a pure techno 4 track ep and one of the strongest deeply rooted so far! dj deep:i have been very impressed with bleaks talent and how he can combine different styles of techno and still produce very personal music. each track, in my opinion, has a life of its own, it starts in a certain way, and takes you to different places. the arrangements are very subtle, sometimes hypnotic, very intense and emotional, the way the drums evolve and drive the tracks, or how deep chords apear in the back ground taking the track to a differrent territory etc.i hope youll like this 12inch as much as i do!

on le rire ep jared wilson (7777 - skudge / detroit) leads the way with a pest chicago-house inspired rework, devilishly and deliciously analog without whittling down to a mere old-school homage, a sort of us-acid-dubstep version of addison groove, with a taste of slacker jak-beat for the nirvana generation! a melodic decomposer, scottish dam mantle (warp - ghostly international / glasgow) deceitfully feigns to mellow with what could at first glance seem like an edit. however deep excavations into the intense choir of >voyage vers l harmonie< leads to a surreal confrontation between a slum village like beat and a post-industrial version of melody nelson. thundery atmospheres, slippery slopes… the best way to pay tribute to luc marianni. famous for his duo as well as his label syncom data, nukubus (bunker / rotterdam) is nonetheless an inspired soloist, as this breathtaking remix once again proves. the 11 minutes long krautrock tunnel leaves many envious of its authenticity and sheer technical virtuosity. this swirling reinterpretation of mariannis work manages to leave the original behind and come into its own. its out of respect for the original work that nukubus requested to be credited only as a remixer. if youve bothered to read the few lines above, please remember it is both easier and wiser to form your own opinion with the vinyl in your own two hands. please note that the distribution of these eps will be accompanied by some very limited original editions of luc mariannis vinyls

shortly after the idea of acting as a record label under the guidance of oliver schories, the first release is already upcoming. different artists from northern germany convinced with their qualities and they found their way on the >nordlichter ep<. mauro basso brings with his >calm water< a potential summer-hit, which should not be missing on any open air event in our opinion. friends of more bassy amusement should listen to the hamburg/bremen based duo apnØ with their >trøt<, a track which encourages even the coolest northern lights to get into action. on the flipside >meet me on the streets< brings some deeper sound onto your turntable, accompained by a video on youtube, the intention of bremen-based duo datastix becomes definitely clear. last but not least julie* from papenburg, who is spinning only vinyl for years, shows us with her >cheerful expression< again, how to make your legs perk up. our advice is: dont disappoint your mum and make your exercises enjoyable: do not forget your turnbeutel in your next set.

the opening track from the debut simon baker album was always going to be a strong choice to be the first single. no pressure has received unanimous praise since the albums release and is back with new remixes by art department and simon himself. its rare to get great stand out vocal tracks that dont split opinion, but this seems to be one of them. its slick, deep house of the highest calibre with a stand out hooky vocal from debukas. art department, owners of ras number one track of 2010 drop a superb remix, adding new vocals and teasing debukas back into the mix for a pretty special, hypnotic workout. simons >upstate dub< mix finishes things off. it aims things directly at the dancefloor in his signature, deep and twisting style.

it is about time for a record from label founder dario zenker. dont ask why it took so long, but be sure it wasnt the last one. and what a record this is, after several great releases on labels like vakant, harry klein records or time to express, dario’s debut on his own imprint is another example for his unique and mature sound. his studio just as his music has grown over the years. 10 am sounds like an earthquake, raw and dirty, it builds up so much energy that even babensham starts to shake. farrel on the other side is best described as deep break beat techno. it shows the diversity of darios productions and diversity combined with a certain signature is a great mix in our opinion. so enjoy it or not, dance or put your hands in your pockets, share some love or be a hater, no matter what we like u.

the best comes last, that is also our opinion and we are proud to present 2 amazing tracks before we take a little summer break. again with a new artist on our ostwind sailer. the young bulgarian ataneus gives his debut on the a side. with >20 years of democracy< he shows us a lyrical, energetic and detroit flavoured track which builds on and on and will definitely rock the floors. an excellent debut how we think and we look forward to his forthcoming tracks. on the flip cosmic cowboys give their vinyl debut on ostwind, too. here on fofftein they come with the anthem >deep is a message<. shallow depth, fluffy, with massive compression of course, and as the name implies rounded down with deepness, this track is a really nice mover for the open air season. we appreciate these artists for this great release and we think to them when we enjoy this sound over the big pas at the open airs

prologue and juho kahilainen (bpitch control, frozen north, initial cuts) release a wonderful deep depressive giant ep called prophet without a vision. juho is recognized as a great electronic artist in europe with the right talent to take you on an excessive dance floor journey without any compromises. de:bug wrote about juho, everybody should take an eye on his productions. prologue shares the same opinion! juho kahilainen has produced one of the greatest summer hits last year on bpitch control and is back on prologue music with a mind-boggling ep called prophet without a vision, now. he is delivering perfect techno tracks with space consuming tunes and unbelievable deepness, people cannot really sit down... you must dance. but dont lose too many words about this prologue release, just listen to it and be surprised. mastered by oliver lieb. support from cio dór, oliver lieb, alex flatner, donato dozzy and many more to come!

in our opinion alex bau is one of the best harder techno producers out there. his material over the last 5 years has been both energetic and groundbreaking. his material for zenit has been particulrly good and this is new release is is no exception. both tracks are different but equally effective. the a side is a driving hard edged techno cut with its pounding kick drum and sharp percssion. the track is punctauted with catchy synth riffs and stabs to great effect. the flip side is truly monstrous with its dark dirty warehouse feel and fat sub bass and string edits. great, great record

avida perfectly fit in with a kind of underground music that was getting all the rage in italy in those days: nonsense music (musica demenziale). the structures were intentionally primitive, often made on cheap electronics. maurizio damis vocals , inspired on early 60s italian singers (to carry on and close the typical 20 years cycle of revivals), such as edoardo vianello, had an appealing mix of trash and humour. avida was essen tially a live band. their performances were a mix of theatre and music, where visuals played a major role. anyway, today some of that music still sounds interesting and not only due to its lyric. in our opinion about the best music alexander robotnik ever made

the trickfinger project was recorded 10 years ago with no intention of being released at the time, made purely for discovery and learning experience. -in my opinion, making music with no intention of releasing it is the best thing a musician can do for his own development in this day and age. the trickfinger lp was made in that mindset, and it was the beginning of a new musical life for me. when i hear it, it sounds like i am opening up doorways to new worlds, and i never have had that feeling listening to music i made for the purpose of releasing it and selling it.- all the music was recorded live onto a cd burner, through a cheap mixer. john would sit on a chair, in his living room, surrounded by five to 15 machines, and just keep programming and jamming until the track was ready to be recorded. there were no overdubs Ð recorded all live
