marc schneider comes around with a new 12 inch on hamburg based label was not was called >sniper ep<. the a side starts like a shot, to be thinking not to arrest somebody. groovy percussions, claps and hihats open the round dance, mysterious strings and a cryptic nice little melodie rounding this tune. when you get to the part of having to turn the record over you will be pleasantly surprised by what you find.. another assassin, hell yeah, hard pumpin basskicks, a dusky bassline, dark vocal snippets and psycho-soundscapes stand for for their own, party hard! the >sniper ep< is an unusual record, clever mixture of banging minimal sound and ravey structures, at the end there wont be survivors, only shoot dancers.. tip

the sweetversion of let’s get down is based on a basic spanish guitarmelody with uplifting vocals and funky hihats. the funky guitar even gets a little outof tone sometimes, to give that real 12 inch feeling to it. the low bassline combined with the stabbing kick delivers a groovy summerfeeling to the track.the original mix is a powerful clubrecord with an electro twist. especially the fatchunky bassline puts the dance floor to work.the groove remix started out as a experimental version of lets getdown but the vocals were so catchy, playectra decided to produce a more groovy version of it. the rawsounding guitar and crushedhihats makes the track loose his sweetness to give the track a stronger and energetic feel. the long break in the middle of the track pushes the track to a climax. the filtered guitars and loud bassline makes the track a little bit french sounding

real life testing reveals it all, therefore we have nothing to add to serafin s comment about the a side: >i have been playing this in virtually every set for the past couple of weeks, and the reaction of the crowds is simply amazing. this performs extremely well in a club setting, it sounds perfect (and loud!) on every system and people are responding to it instantly. i often extend this with the loop machine to well over 10 minutes, with an absolutely devastating effect. this is a bomb, trust me on this one!< on the flip switzerland s premier dirt funker agnès delivers one of his nasty treatments. the sthlm audio head pulls all the stops on this one: bass action from below underground, weird noises and nicely shuffled hihats compose a charming and warm piece of music, carrying a strange and deep atmosphere!

already played by karotte, an exciting 3-track ep. the a-side >cinematique< starts with a dark bass and a special rave-line, which leads you through the whole track. banging claps and sharp hihats makes this track a good choice for ecstatic moments on the dancefloor. the b-side boasts >praymantis<, a track reminiscent of old 808 state tracks, but stripped down to modern and soulful acid house. the second track on the b-sdie is >domina< which rounds up this versatile ep and has this special oldschool house feeling of releases on hibias or from don carlos from the beginning of the 90s. a smart and relaxed journey from clubs peak time to smart afterhour sessions

the a-side presents >shick<, a dark minimal pusher. permanent sticks hold the tempo, while a dark but dirty melody slowly rises up and starts to lead the track. after a short break, >shick< evloves its whole sable grandeur. take your time to enjoy this one.. on the b-side, you find another strong bit. >shock< is less dark but more funky. shuffling hihats, a jumping bassline and some short chords qualify shock s heavy demand on the dancefloor. a thin open hihat makes grooves on and on and a short ear candy melody wont leave your head for hours. do we need anything else? dont think so

tom demac takes us down the deep/minimal route again with the latest release on electronique audio. the >liquid staircase e.p,< definitely has an over all aim at the dance floor over the last output from the label. although, there are some bits that are equally enjoyable for the home listener. >liquid staircase< with a throbbing bass line that is sure to attract some whistles from the dance floor, together with glitchy percussion, cutting hihats, and a twisted vocal line over the top. >sunday lunch< represents the house elements of tom demac s material, with >domestic dimming< and >end of…< keeping the deep, melodic aspect to his production on electronique audio
