rivets twists it in suitable fashion for the skudge label...one gritty house cut backed with an epic flipside.

rivet puts a lot of effort in his sounds and his production. this is not another copycat. first out on the ep >amid the roar< is >metrist<, a sexy march that blends the stiffness 80-ties disco with techno from the future. on the b-side marcel fengler takes his turn on >metrist<. he keeps the string of the original, chops up the bass and creates a dancefloor monster with a big anthem alert stamp on it. amid the roar ends with what might be the strongest track on the ep. this ep will make us dance, of course, as always, with a bit of a kontra-musik twist.

bristols local hero kowton contributes to teals fourth release - the slowly grooving house gem that is dirty little bomb slowly evolves through cold, industrial soundscapes yielding one of the more introvert yet danceable tracks seen on teal so far. the mysterious player rivet reworks kowtons gem on the flipside - cranking up the tempo, layering lush synth hits and shifty groove - power moves!

b-side: dis yah one i love - heavy track with a garage feel to it. breezy synths tie it down but the real focus is on the percussion, the beat is tremendous!

the sheffield powerhouse that is denham audio have had an extremely busy few years crafting superb techno and ‘130 jungle’ rollers. their productions have been turning a lot of heads, landing releases on circular jaw, tessier-ashpool, grndwrk, tumble audio, heretic and addison groove’s new groove imprint in the short space of time since they debuted songs online in mid-2015. they show no sign of their workrate slowing this year with the boys presenting their “leighton buzzin’” ep on artifice this month.

the first theory of 2013 sees an unreleased track from yesteryear get some tlc.

we never forget our roots here at idle hands. for people of a certain age the wild experiments of jungle and dnb remain close to our hearts. whilst scenes, sounds and trends may wax and wane that visceral feeling of chest rattling bass is something we hold on to. rhythmic theory is one producer who like us, never forgot. here we present two tunes deeply indebted to those times. it must be stated though, you will not find any amen breaks or ragga samples here, instead, this up and coming bristol producer transposes the atmospheres and deadly subs to a techno template. *legacy of the lost* and *riveted* follow on from two well received vinyl only release on brstl and his own self titled label. both tracks are immaculately crafted hardware jams that are designed solely with sound system use in mind.

the second of two eps from talented californian newcomer, tyler friedman, has now arrived. a night in the woods ep starts of as a murky rhythmic experiment. when released of its bound, it transforms into a hailstorm of sound that builds in melodic intensity towards a final climax. this is scenic and brave electronic dancemusic that over and over again will capture the focused listener. on the b-side rivet for sure push tyler towards berghain. but now the tool is somewhat different. rivet transforms the cinematic original into a very dirty and dry party stomper.
