having started out throwing diy raves in toronto canada, the forth collective became influenced by the citys hunger for self-expression. various artists vol. 2 is the second instalment in a series of compilations that gives toronto artists a chance to realise their ideas on the local and international stage.

picking up from where she left off with last years successful tools of my purpose, e- saggila has returned to bank employing a more sublime and immersive electronic document. previously leaning toward noisier and distorted rhythms, she has incorporated more sophisticated elements into writing and production. dedicated to sublimity is a product of growth and progression but still reflects the raw elements weve heard in her early recordings. lush and atmospheric elements coincide with the brutality of her live sets and play off one another as a cohesive representation of the e-saggila project.

gila steps out of the shadows with a huge release. two massive,cold metallic techno drillers from the trench, with acidic nuances and big room bravado attached. 106 slipper is the a-side, a weighty, slow tempo,morphing banger. driven by punishing percussion,this is a polyrhythmic take on techno from the trenches. receiving love from mary anne hobbs, optimo & hudson mohawke. trench cadence, the b-side, is a drum line procession sent through a meat grinder, picking up erratic idm aesthetics, and a villalobos who gives a fuck mentality. hard and built for the club.

tools of my purpose goes hard. the new 12inch by e-saggila solo project of rita mikhael who co-runs summer isle records is beautiful, raucous and engaging.

the j.o.g label is run by rei elbaz and yiftach giladi, which are 2 minimal, techo-house djs / producers / party promoters from tel aviv israel they co-founded the 100 meters beneath the ground collective, throwing the bigest and wildest raves around israel. from jerusalem, they went on to found and resident the m1 techno parties in tel aviv, hosting many djs from the global techno scene. this 4-track e.p. shows their skillz to take techno to the next step !!!
