after their well received debut album on internasjonal, windsurfs here to remind you about their brilliance. one of the standout tracks off their album, bird of paradise now gets a reworking from their scandinvian musical cousins studio who not only manages to bring it to the dancefloor, they even fit in a week long holiday to turkey as well....yamaz!!! to make the package complete, the beat broker(of broker dealer on ghostly)turns out a nice and deep house version of light as daylight. tasty indeed...

a joint effort between prins thomas and word and sound- the idea behind the label is to put out good music and not limiting ourselves to stick with a specific genre, instead opting to stay fresh and individual with each release going in every direction we feel. we re gonna be highlighting new talent, re-releasing some lesser known nuggets and certainly give you some dancefloor killers along the way to. from japanese techno to california kraut : ) just the way we like it... second release up is a taste of what s to come later in 2008 when we drop windsurfs debut album. these 4 tracks where initially planned for release on sentrall but where for some strange reason scrapped and made available as mp3 only. too sad as this is some of the finest heady downbeat electronic music to appear in the current baleric,cosmic blah blah blah call it what you want scene. windsurf consists of 1 part sorcerer and 1 part hatchback, both has records out on tirk and thisisnotanexit respectively and they ve also managed to deliever killer reworks of lcd soundsystem and shawn lee s ping pong orchestra(to be unleashed early 2008). crafting their own musical universeout of layers and layers of guitars and synths, never going for the obvious... well, im not gonna spend more time trying to convince you, check it out at wordandsound.de(paste in appropriate link here f.ex....)

jedi mind tricks is currently one of the hottest underground hip-hop groups in the united states. their sophomore album, violent by design, has sold over 85.000 copies and is regarded by many as one of the best independent hip-hop albums ever recorded. babygrande records is proud to present “the psycho-social, chemical, biological, and electro-magnetic manipulation of human consciousness” lp which is the cult classic prequel to violent by design. described by the source magazine as “ahead of its time” and by cmj as “a must own for anyone who cares about hip-hop culture,” the psycho-social was originally released only in limited pressings on vinyl 1997. the vinyl edition sells frequently on ebay for upwards of $100. that is until now... in 2002, prior to obtaining national distribution, babygrande released the cd version to independent retailers nationwide and scanned over 40.000 copies. now, babygrande has opened its vaults to re-release the the vinyl edition of the psycho- social in its entirety on collectible edition red vinyl (and for the first time ever in limited quantities on clear vinyl). thanks to digital remastering, listeners can obtain the album jedi mind tricks originally released in 1997, exactly as the artist intended. same barcode on black and clear vinyl, random fill, no guarantee.

first pressing of 1000 copies. mike lundy, lemuria, aura. this trifecta of inimitable hawaiian acts descended upon honolulu’s state-of-the-art broad recording studio in late 1979 to create what have now become the most coveted hawaiian funk/soul/jazz albums of the era. but whereas lemuria functioned as a short-lived studio band and mike lundy saw little success from his album’s release, aura - comprised of eight siblings from the mendoza family - remained a key figure in the nightlife scene of hawaii of the 1970s and early 1980s. each tune on their 1979 lp showcases the band’s unmatched musical talent that continues to astonish listeners in the 21st century.

multi talented uk jazz pianist greg foat has teamed up with mercury award nominated the bees member and multi instrumentalist warren hampshire to collaborate on a new lp drawing on their diverse musical influences. classic british library music, 60s italian soundtracks & lost americana combined with touches of modern classical, minimalism, jazz and folk. featuring many members of greg and warren s previous bands and one of the u.ks finest jazz drummers, clark tracy, the lp also features an edinburgh orchestra and soloists hand picked and scored by the boys. recorded all analogue onto 2-multitrack in edinburgh, mixed down by mattias glava at his studio in gothenburg, sweden then mastered and cut in helsinki, finland, it s truly a european affair flying in the face of the brexit nightmare. release june 2017
