spread across 3 tracks, -trust first- has been in fruition over the past year and is the biggest project of mjog s career to date. produced to display his confidence and friendship for the label, the ep embodies the artist s depth of knowledge and showcases his diversity as a producer by drawing from different influences.

side a takes off with the title track, a straight up minimal club banger infused with chunky percussions, ethereal pads and vocal clips overflowing with warmth and emotion.
on the flip side, this is mjog turning up the energy levels with -brainwave-. a beautiful journey rhythmed by a solid drumbeat, metallic sounds and enchanting melody drifts giving it an interstellar feel.
to close the ep, prepare to embark on a -pacific dream-, a galloping beat combining strong drums with alluring and atmospheric dubby pads, turning it into a galactic ditty.

hailing from the mists of the early 90s uk techno scene, ramjac corporation s -cameroon massif!- epitomises everything great about the anything goes spirit of the scene prior to firm genre boundaries being established. emotional rescue have done the right thing and brought the vintage curio back to light, and what a return it is. while it shows its age, it sounds in fine fettle, all rolling breaks, trancey zaps and mysterious vocal hooks that positively draw you into a transcendental rave headspace. both the -massive- and -massing- mixes are essential, but then you also get the added bonus of a live version from a reunion gig back in 2009.

side a starts with aster ix, a track with simple percussion and a hard, yet smooth, bassline. the continuous pad and the occasionally sparky chords make aster ix the perfect combination for an 8-minute track designed to keep you up. this 12-minute vinyl flaunts on the same side twisted , which takes the darker side of the producer one step further. the dark track, twisted , boldly surprises you with the trippy sequences of its repetitive vocals. side b is represented by the most complex track of the ep: organik -- a track playing with a natural groove as well as acoustic-based elements. it s a 15-minute journey with spacey and atmospheric-drone sounds that takes you far away while listening.

the kurl project started in the summer of 2014 where the primary concept was to sonically encompass the various influences of a twenty-year musical journey. the essence of kurls sound is mainly deep dub with hints of house groove that create a very unique sound environment connecting the listener to his lifestyle and movement. at the root of “sacred fire” is a very special love story. kurl started an emotional partnership, a genuine brotherhood with mj white, one of the pioneers of the soulful house music sound of the new york ’90s. marshall james white appeared on many hits in the nyc club scene including scandalous still irresistible just to name one. he tragically passed away in november 2015. mj white gives soul to sacred fire by writing the lyrics and interpreting it with so much passion that kurl was able to transform this track into an eternal love song. for kurl, mj white will remain the angel with a heavenly voice, and above all, a memory that will mark his internal and musical journey for the rest of his days in the words of mj white music has a huge heart that beats inside all of us.
