popof’s illustrious label form music is set to release a special vinyl only compilation showcasing some of the imprint’s most exciting artists entitled, ‘reformers’.
since its formation in 2009, form music has rapidly established itself as one of the most innovative and ambitious dance labels, working alongside both established and new artists including julian jeweil, sébastien léger, animal & me, mendo, philip bader, petar dundov, dj fronter and jay lumen as well as the label’s head honcho himself, popof.
kicking the four track package off is popof’s sublime rework of julian jeweil’s acclaimed dancefloor destroyer ‘chrome’, which is perfectly followed by the pounding drum-and-bass-tinged-techno workout ‘shadow tactics’, created by slovenia’s pioneering dj/producer umek.
julian jeweil’s ‘midi’ continues the release, seeing the talented frenchman utilising synths with real expertise and blending electronic nuances with melodic percussive elements to bring us nicely on to the compilation’s closing track, the deep and trippy tech house gem ‘slush fund’ by berlin-based simina grigoriu.

reaching our 100th release seems surreal. i started it with 50 bucks and a defiant attitude to release music i felt wasn’t repped elsewhere. the label has grown into a renegade family, and worldwide techno brand. proud of every single achievement and mistake we have made, we felt it fitting to gather a selection of our favorite artists and showcase our vision on the current state of classic modern techno. here s to another 10000. octopus for life.

this release is a collection of big names of the electronic music history, some of them are legends: pete tong & john monkman lead the list of big artists in this ep, they had produced the bumps a few months ago and now we can see the remixes of that track.
for the remix duties, suara is proud to have on board one of the biggest names of electronic music movement with more than 20 million albums sold, 8 songs in the uk singles chart, masterpieces like play or 18. the name of the remixer is moby, whom did a delicate and sophisticated deep house track for his debut on suara.
coyu is in the package too with a dancefloor, melodic, powerful interpretation of the original and julien jeweil did a really cool revision of the track in a techno way.

originally released on richie hawtins minus label a decade ago, restore stands alone as houles very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. spread across three 12inches & 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by hawtin and the rest of the minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of houles unique character and identity. now its the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing - a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give restore a fresh makeover.
